Wine and tree-growing circular on the heights of Cleebourg

Park in one of the parking spaces on Rue de l'École in Oberhoffen-les-Wissembourg. Very easy to access by car.

(S/E) At the end of Rue de l'École, turn right and take the pavement along Rue Principale (D240) until you reach the sign for Oberhoffen-les-Wissembourg.

(1) Turn right onto Rue de la Forêt, which is the start of the discovery trail. Follow the green cross markings until you reach a four-way crossroads.

(2) Turn right, following the green disc markings, continue along this discovery trail until you reach a new X-shaped crossroads.

(3) Continue straight ahead, following the green disc markings, and you will soon come to a T-junction.

(4) Turn left, 90°, towards the wine trail, and climb up to the heights of Cleebourg, to the chalet where you can stop for a picnic.

(5) Descend on the right, through the vineyards, to reach the village of Cleebourg.

(6) Take Rue Principale on the right. Follow this almost straight road to the end of the village.

(7) Turn right onto Rue Wolf and follow the yellow disc trail. After a few bends, you will find the Cleebourg wine cellars at the junction with the D77.

(8) Turn right onto the path marked with a red ring. A few steps further on, you will return to the T-junction you passed on the way there.

(4) Continue straight ahead until you reach the X-shaped crossroads, which you also passed on the way there.

(3) Here, take the Anneau Rouge marked trail on the left. Follow the path through the fields until you reach the D240. Turn right and follow it for a few metres until you reach the trail junction.

(9) Turn left towards Rott, still following the red ring markings. Pass in front of the Roetz Mill. Walk along fields and vineyards to reach a four-way crossroads in the shape of an X at a place called Madenwiese.

(10) Turn right, with the D3 on your left. You will reach an X-shaped crossroads.

(11) Turn right and follow the well-marked path straight ahead to reach the orchards and car park on Rue de l'École in Oberhoffen-les-Wissembourg (S/E).

(5) Chalet: a beautiful spot to stop for a bite to eat and admire the village of Cleebourg and its half-timbered houses below.
(6) Cleebourg: as you pass through the village, enjoy the beautiful farmhouses and half-timbered houses.
(8) Cleebourg cellars: you can stop for a bite to eat and/or visit the cellars.
