Villeny - Château de la Motte Longuet circular loop

Park on Rue de Bellevue behind the Villeny village hall.

(S/E) With your back to the car park, turn left onto Rue de Bellevue heading west. Continue straight ahead to Rue Eugène Laurenceau, first turn right then left and take the left-hand path just after no. 44, signposted CR Liaison Montrieux par la Giraudière. Ignore all side paths and continue to the D113.

(1) Join the path located at the point formed by the D113 and Route de Dhuizon (no signposts). Continue to the next junction.

(2) Turn right and follow the signs for Route 14,13 Villeny. Cross the road and continue along the path opposite.

(3) At a place called Le Pigeonnier, continue straight ahead. Join the D88.

(4) Follow the road to the left, signposted Route 13, continue for about 100 metres and take the first path on the right. Ignore all side paths.

(5) Pass a pond on your right. After crossing a cattle grid, you will reach an X-shaped intersection.

(6) Turn left, signposted CR27, and continue to the Carrefour de la Croix Gérat.

(7) Cross Chemin CR40 and follow the grassy path opposite CR27, marked in white and red, then leave CR28 on your right. Follow CR27 to the junction with^GR®®3C.

(8) Follow the^GR®®3Cto the right, marked in white and red. Join a road and cross it.

(9) Continue straight ahead on the CR23, ignoring all side paths.

(10) Cross the CR31 and reach the junction with the CR3.

(11) Leave it on your right and continue straight ahead on the CR23, ignoring all side roads.

(12) Leave the CR34 on your right and continue straight ahead on the CR5, following the white and red markings.

(13) Opposite the entrance to Château de La Motte Longuet, turn right and join a wide path.

(14) Turn left, signposted VC11 Ligny le Ribault.

(15) After crossing a deep ditch, leave the wide path and follow the CR29 on the left, marked in white and red.

(16) Negotiate a sharp left turn, descend to the Ruisseau d'Arignan, cross via the small footbridge and continue to an intersection. Then turn right and join a T-junction.

(17) Turn right, following the signs for Route des Chaises - Route du Boucher. Pass the hamlets of Les Grandes Chaises and L'Hermitage.

(18) Follow the path on the right towards Les Thouars. Ignore all side paths. Cross two wide white paths.

(19) Pass the locality of Les Thouards on your right, walk along the Étang des Thouhards on your left, and reach a Y-junction.

(20) Turn right to follow the CR26, and at the next intersection continue straight ahead, following the yellow markings.

(21) Cross the CR5, follow the CR26 opposite and ignore all side roads. At the next intersection, the signpost indicates to turn left, but first you must continue for another 30 metres.

(22) Turn left along a pond, following the signs for Route Villeny (yellow and red-and-white markings). Continue, ignoring all minor paths. Turn left onto Rue de Bellevue to reach the car park (S/E).
