Circular on the Granier discovery trail

The departure point is the car park of the ski lift at the small resort of La Chavonne.

(S/E) Take the road uphill.

(1) Turn left as you climb.

(2) Follow the small discovery trail on the right along the stream. Walk along the left bank of the stream (in the direction of the current).

(3) When you reach the forest track, take the wider path up to the left, then bear right and follow this path, following the signs for "Parking de Laval".

(4) At the edge of the forest, take the path on the left and follow "la Chavonne". Do not go down to the Laval car park. Ignore a path on the left and at the next fork, take the path downhill on the left.

(5) Cross the stream du Gargot.

(6) Continue along this path, leaving the top of the ski lift on your right. Pass under the ski lift and arrive at the start of the path on the left.

(7) Take this path, which descends to the left towards the ski lift. Continue straight down towards the car park at the bottom. Descend following the ski lift to arrive directly at the car park (S/E).

No problems on this hike except after (4), where snow slides are frequent after 1 km.

(7) You can also take the path that passes under the ski lift. Continue downhill to the right when you reach the small road you took on the way up and follow the route in reverse (2).
