Park in the village of Vignieu, at the top of the Cote du Turc, near the waste collection points or the salt depot.
(S/E) Take the road on your right heading north-west towards La Rivoire. Leave the salt depot on your right and take the winding road downhill. Take care as visibility on this road is not ideal. You will arrive at the Del Lobo stud farm.
(1) Take the path completely on the left in the bend. Go up to the left of the stud farm and its riding arena. The path runs between the horse pastures and arrives on the plateau, in a small wooded area.
(2) Turn right at the top. After a hundred metres or so, take a path on the right, which leads back above the stud farm with a view of the valley. Turn left at the junction on the tarmac road. Join the crossroads of path 441 leading to a farm.
(3) Take the path opposite. Follow it downhill; it is regularly used by horses to reach the village of La Rivoire. When you reach the La Rivoire road, turn left. Cross the hamlet.
Alternative: in the centre of the hamlet, if you have a good half hour ahead of you and want to discover the Château de Chapeau Cornu, it is here. Go down the road on your right.
(4) Otherwise, continue your route by staying on the road for a few more metres and take the road that goes up on your left in the open area. At the top, the road turns into a path. Take the path on the right, before the only house in the area. Continue to the next crossroads. At the crossroads, continue along the road on your left. At the first houses, take the path that branches off to the left. The path descends through fields and a few wooded areas.
(5) At the next crossroads, turn right and continue to the right, following the curve, onto a wide path at the bottom of the valley which gradually climbs up to the plateau before reaching the hamlet of Haute Biousse.
(6) Continue along the road through the hamlet, continuing on the left, until you reach the next crossroads. After the last house, turn left onto the tarmac road which climbs and quickly turns into a path. At the next fork, take the path on the left side of the hillside. Gradually climb up to the plateau with a view of the path you took half an hour earlier and the high-voltage power line in front of you.
(7) Continue along the path on the left.
In strong winds, wrap up warm, as it is not warm at high altitudes.
Continue for a few hundred metres under the high-voltage power line until you reach a crossroads with several paths. Take the very stony path on the right that descends, with a view of the church and the village of Montcarra. Take the first path on the left along the hillside. Pass under the power line again, keeping to the right, until you reach the crossroads and the next tarmac road, which you will cross.
(8) Head back up the path in front of you. At the next crossroads, take the path at right angles to the left. At the top, turn left, then right and you will reach a crossroads with four paths, where you started your route.
(2) At the crossroads, take the path on the right. You will see the hamlet of Bois du Lucle below you. Take the first path on the right which descends alongside the park on the left. Continue left at the next right-angle bend on the hillside. The path descends towards a group of houses after a right-angle bend on the right.
(9) You will rejoin the tarmac road at the group of houses, where you will find Rue des Escargots de Bourdenoud on your right. Follow this tarmac road to Rue des 3 Terremens at the next crossroads. Turn left and proceed with caution as there is traffic.
(10) At the crossroads, turn left onto the tarmac Chemin du Bois de Lucle. Follow this path, which winds between the houses, then turn right and then left to return to the starting point (S/E).
