Route from Béceleuf to Roc Cervelle via La Chancelée and L'Autize

Park in the small car park at the junction of the D745 and D126 roads opposite the cemetery.

(S/E) Cross the D745 carefully and walk along the right-hand side of the cemetery, taking Rue de la Règle.

(1) Ignore the first road on the left and continue straight on along Rue de la Règle. Pass Rue de la Menoterie on your right and immediately afterwards take a path on the right just before the buildings (on your left). Cross the bridge over the Le Guillet stream and continue to the junction with the D126.

(1) Follow this road to the right and, shortly afterwards, at the first house, cross over to take the path on the left just before the fire reservoir. At the end of the path, follow Rue du Liseron to the right and cross over to take a path on the left immediately. Shortly afterwards, at a fork, continue along the path on the right.

(3) At the inverted Y-junction, continue along the path on the left. Go downhill, cross the small stream La Chancelée and go uphill on the other side. This will take you to the hamlet of Bénette.

(4) At the give way sign, take the small road on the left. At the junction immediately ahead, continue left onto a road. After about fifty metres, at the bend, ignore the path branching off to the right. Follow the road to the D216 (bridge over the Autize on the right).

(5) Cross the road carefully and follow it to the left for about fifty metres. Then take the first path on the right and head downhill. Cross the Autize and continue along the path. You will reach a junction at the foot of Roc Cervelle (just before this junction, on the right, a sign indicates a path leading up to the summit of Roc Cervelle).

(6) Turn left and cross the Autize again. Shortly afterwards, take the first path on the right and continue along the edge of the woods.

(7) At the end of the path, turn left and head uphill.

(8) At the junction, turn right, then at the next junction, turn left onto the road and ignore a path branching off to the left.

(9) You will come out onto a small road (Rue de Beauregard) and follow it to the right. You will cross Rue de Pouzay on the right-hand side but continue along Rue de Beauregard.

(1) Join Rue de la Règle and follow it to the right. Cross the D745 carefully and you will immediately reach the parking spot (S/E).

During the wet season, some paths can be very muddy: wear suitable footwear.

(6) Roc Cervelle: a rock formation made up of slabs of schist.
Legend has it that the water seeping from the foot of the Roc during wet weather is the urine of the fairy Mélusine.

You can climb to the top to enjoy the view.
