Access to the start is via a large car park on Rue de Brest (D5) in Lampaul-Plouarzel, not far from the church.
Yellow markings
(S/E) Leaving the car park, turn right along Rue de la Mairie. Pass in front of the town hall, then turn right and go around the cemetery on the left, passing close to a pretty park.
(1) Follow a pretty sunken path straight ahead, which will take you to two wash houses (for the second one, take a short detour) to Aber Ildut, which is hidden by the houses that line it. Reach theGR®34.
White and red markings (GR®34)
(2) Follow the road along the edge of the aber and turn left with it.
(3) Turn right onto a busy road, which you will quickly leave, turning right onto Route du Nouarn. At the end, turn left then right to reach the Porscav pier. Enjoy the magnificent view and read the information panels.
(4) Continue along the coastal path to reach Beg ar Groaz and the entrance to Aber Ildut. There is a beautiful view of the islands of Molène and Ouessant, weather permitting.
(5) Continue south on theGR®34to the next point.
(6) Either follow theGR® IGN route and you will find yourself on a beach with rocks to cross (choice of route), or continue straight along the road to join theGR® 34 behind the houses. You will arrive at a beautiful white sandy beach where you can take a break, have a picnic and go for a swim.
(7) Continue along theGR®34to the Beg ar Vir peninsula.
(8) Head down to a playground between the motorhome car park and the port of Porspaul.
(9) Leave theGR®34and follow the yellow markings.
Yellow markings
Cross the D5 with caution and follow the small road to the right towards Lampaul Coz. On your left, you will see the pretty Saint-Égarec Chapel. Immediately after, turn right and then keep left towards the Moulin du Prieuré.
(10) Continue along a path that joins a street, which you follow to the right until you reach Rue Saint-Mathieu, where you turn left towards Rue de Molène. Turn right to reach the car park near the church (S/E).
