From Plouarzel Town Hall to Porscuidic

A walk from the village of Plouarzel to the Porscuidic campsite, avoiding traffic as much as possible via a track barely passable by cars between Toul-An-Dour and Kervilon and a cycle path for at least 80% of the route. I did it to go and get some bread at Maison Kérénneur.

Description of the walk

Start from Place du Général de Gaulle in Plouarzel, where you’ll find the Town Hall, a bakery, a butcher’s and a restaurant.

(S/E) With your back to the Town Hall, turn right onto Route de Trèzien.

(1) At the roundabout, take the second exit on the right towards Trèzien. Pass a wash house on the way out of the village.

(2) Turn right onto the cycle path towards a row of five wind turbines; keep them on your right and continue straight on, passing Dorguen and Le Vourc’h.

(3) Turn left onto Hent Milin Avel, take the Route de Porstévigné on the right, then turn right again about a hundred metres further on onto a path marked in yellow. Pass another wash house on the left and come out onto the Route de Toul an Dour. Head right and continue for about a hundred metres.

(4) Turn right onto Route de Kérescar.

(5) Turn left onto Rue des Mouettes, which leads directly to the Porscuidic campsite (E).

Notes

It’s an easy walk in this direction as the gradient is downhill, but more tiring the other way round. However, if you want fresh bread without wasting fuel, it’s a tough walk out there but a relaxing one on the way back.

Worth a visit

The wind turbines, the view of the Iroise Sea from Kervilon, the Trèzien Lighthouse on the mainland and the Four Lighthouse out at sea overlooking Porspoder, Molène and Ouessant... A real feast for the eyes!
