Tour of Aber Ildut with boat crossing

Start from the car park at Porscav harbour, on the left bank of the Aber Ildut. The car park is located on Rue de l’Aber.

(S) Head west, follow the coastal path and walk alongside the aber on your right. Pass Pointe de Beg ar Groaz and continue along the coastal path by the sea.

(1) Take a short stretch of road at Pors Doun and rejoin the coastal path after the last house on the right-hand side. Further on, at a car park, the path runs alongside the road for about a hundred metres to the Kervriou viewpoint.

(2) Continue for about 200 metres along the path as it moves away from the road.

(3) Leave the^GR® and take a path on the left. Join the coastal road (Rue de Gouerou) and follow it to the right for about fifty metres.

(4) At the junction, turn left onto the Allée Verte. Go straight on and, at the end of the street, turn left. Then take the^first right, Rue de Keramelon,

(5) At the wash house, leave the road and follow the path to the left (north) for about 250 metres.

(6) Then turn left at the fork. At the three-way junction, turn right. At the next junction, turn left and, before the housing estate, turn right. Return to the tarmac road and continue along it until you reach a backwater of the aber.

(7) Follow a road to the right and leave it immediately to take a path on the left. Walk along the left-hand side of the backwater (Anse de Milin an Aod) and ignore the roads on the right.

(8) Continue along the signposted path, now following the Aber Ildut. Note several viewpoints on the opposite bank. After a long stretch heading generally eastwards, turn south, still following the aber.

(9) You’ll come out onto the D28; follow it to the left and cross the bridge over the aber. Immediately leave the road and take a path on the left, still following the aber. Cross a stream and continue northwards.

(10) At a three-way junction, turn left. Join the access road to the Manoir du Bel Air and follow it to the right. At the end, follow the D27 to the left. Then take the^first left and head back to the banks of the aber.

(11) Turn right and walk along the aber on your left. Ignore all turn-offs to the right and cross a few streams.

(12) After the path bends to the right, turn left to reach Lanildut Church and the D27.

(13) Cross the road and continue straight ahead along Rue de Rumorvan. Pass a wash house and continue along Venelle du Fromeur. At the end, turn right and, at the Fork in the road, keep left.

(14) At the T-junction, turn left. At the next junction, turn left again onto Route de Kernioc.

(15) Cross the D27 and carry on straight ahead. Follow the path down to the harbour master’s office (E).

Depending on the time and direction of the crossing, it is possible to reverse the direction of the walk or to separate the southern part of the aber from the rest of the aber tour.
