Circular from the Refuge des Fonts and the Cascade du Rouget

The start is at the car park located at the southern exit of Salvagny on the D429.

(S/E) Follow the road towards Salvagny. Cross the Ruisseau du Nant Sec stream and turn onto the path that branches off to the right. Then turn onto the road. Cross the stream and follow the Route des Fonds, which turns into a track.

(1) Pass the Croix des Sprits and reach La Célière at 1,111 m.

(2) Continue via Les Frassettes. Cross the Giffre des Fonds before arriving at the chalets and the Refuge des Fonts.

(3) Turn around and take the track back to La Célière.

(2) Leave the main track by taking the path that branches off to the left.

(4) Cross the Giffre des Fonds. Ignore a path on the left and continue to the Cascade du Rouget road.

(5) Turn right and follow the D429. Cross the hamlet of Les Fardelay and ignore a path on the left.

(6) Leave the road and take the next path (GR®5). Then rejoin the road and continue downhill.

(7) Take the path on the right that descends towards the road. Turn right onto the road until you reach the next path, which branches off to the right and cuts across a bend in the road. Return to the road and follow it to the right.

(8) Pass under the Rouget waterfall and continue along the road for about 250 m.

(9) Leave the road by taking the path that branches off to the right and continue to the junction with the D429.

(10) Turn right onto the road, cross the Giffre des Fonds and continue to the first path on the left.

(11) Leave the road, ignore two turnings on the left (GR®), cross a stream and reach a wider track.

(12) Turn right onto this track, ignore a turn-off on the right and reach the D429. Turn left and return to the car park (S/E).
