Lutterbach Wood Circular Loop

There are a few parking spaces at Lutzelacker, at the junction of Rue de Richwiller and Chemin de Lutzelacker.

(S/E) From the car park, go through a barrier and head east along the forest. Continue to the crossroads near a bridge.

(1) Cross the bridge and turn right towards Lutterbach-Gare, following the yellow ring markings. Walk along a stream and ignore a path on your left. Pass under the high-voltage power lines and continue to the next crossroads.

(2) Take a small bridge over the stream on the right. Now follow the blue cross markings. Just after the bridge, turn left and take the Sentier du Dollerbaechlein. Continue along this winding path which runs alongside the stream of the same name. Further on, it turns westwards and becomes a little wider and straighter until it reaches a crossroads.

(3) Ignore a small bridge on your left and take the path on the right, marked with a red ring. Pass under the high-voltage power lines. After a small bridge and a bench, turn left at a T-junction. Cross a tarmac road and continue straight ahead towards the Maison Forestière. Pass in front of it.

(4) A few metres after passing the house, take a small unmarked path that leads into the forest on the left. At the end of this path, at a T-junction, turn left. Ignore the path that turns right, as it joins the fitness trail. Continue to the tarmac road.

(5) A few steps before reaching the road, turn right onto a path that first runs alongside the road for a few metres and then veers diagonally to the right. Walk alongside the high-voltage power lines, heading south-west, and follow the red ring markings. Before the path turns left at a crossroads, leave the high-voltage line continuing south-west and turn right. Cross a path that is part of the fitness trail and, where there is a bench and a sign, continue to follow the red ring markings along the path diagonally to the left. Ignore two successive crossroads and continue straight ahead. After crossing another path that is part of the fitness trail, you will come to a T-junction.

(6) Turn left. After ignoring a path coming from the left, the path, still marked with red rings, branches off to the right. At a crossroads, leave a path on your left leading to the football stadium and continue straight ahead on the Route du Muguet. When you reach a T-junction, you will see the entrance to a fishing company on your left, indicated by various signs.

(7) Continue along the path on the right, following the lake. At the end of this path, just after a sign indicating "Ici Baggerloch" and two benches, turn left and then immediately right (there is also an entrance to the fishing company on the left). Continue to the next crossroads.

(8) Turn left and then immediately right again to stay on the Anneau Rouge marked path. When you reach Croisement des Chênes, continue straight ahead along the botanical trail. Shortly afterwards, turn diagonally to the right and continue along this path until you reach a crossroads with a small bridge leading to the village on the left. Ignore the sign for "Parking du Chalet" and leave the Anneau Rouge trail to turn right. At the end of this path, you will reach a T-junction.

(9) Turn left. Pass in front of the Gros Chêne de Pfastatt (big oak tree) and continue straight ahead. About a hundred metres before the departmental road, turn diagonally right over a small concrete bridge, following the Anneau Rouge trail again. At the next Y-junction, take the path that joins the departmental road, diagonally to the left. Cross the road carefully to reach the car park at the starting point, at a place called Lutzelacker (S/E).
