Park in the car park at the bottom of the village of Duerne. A sign with useful information is located in this car park.
(S/E) From there, walk up through the village to the four-way junction. Turn right towards Sainte-Foy-l’Argentière and walk past the restaurant car park alongside the road to avoid staying on it (it’s busy and there’s no pavement on the right-hand side). Stay on the path until the first fork, keep to the right and continue along the Chemin des Fayes, ignoring the two roads on the right. Pass Les Vorzes and continue to the junction with a path, just after the entrance to a house on the left, and at the 90° left-hand bend.
(1) Leave the tarmac by turning right and follow the path uphill to the crossroads. Ignore the path on the left, although it leads to a lovely spot (see ‘Nearby’ section). Follow this path to a junction with a larger track.
(2) Turn right, go behind a farm, go round it and then head down the path on the left towards the forest. You will then come to a three-way junction.
(3) Take the middle path and continue to the edge of the forest.
(4) Head down the path on the left; it is steep and stony. Continue down until you see a large tree on your left. Carry on for a few more metres until you reach a fork.
(5) Turn right and continue along this path, heading straight on along the hillside, until you leave the forest and reach some houses in the hamlet known as La Forêt.
(6) Continue along the quiet tarmac road called Chemin de la Forêt and head back up towards the village of Duerne. When you reach the junction of Chemin des Gardes and Route du Col, turn right to reach the car park (S/E).
