Park in the car park of the Étang de Vallsera leisure area: access via the road going uphill from Les Angles.
This route is fully marked with yellow PR® signs, but changes have been made to the original route shown on the IGN map.
(S/E) Cross the entire recreation area dotted with picnic tables, following the yellow markings that lead to the Rec de Vallsera stream. The path through the woods begins to climb between the rocky scree, first along the stream and then away from it. After about 1 km, orange markers indicate the change in route
(1). Continue climbing, following the yellow markings on the left. The trail comes up against long fallen trees and runs alongside them with ropes fixed as handrails to help you climb between the blocks. You will arrive at the wooded ridge, which offers a beautiful view of the forest.
(2) Follow the yellow markings through the undergrowth along the path that climbs up to its junction with a wider path marked by a signpost.
(3) Turn left onto this flat path, which becomes a track, crosses a captured spring and continues to descend gently to a new marker.
(4) Leave the track and descend through the undergrowth between trees and rocks. A new signpost invites you to follow the marked path to the left, which descends more steeply to a car park.
(5) Cross and follow the road on the left, which leads back to the edge of the pond (S/E).
