Description of the walk

By car, head to Farinole via the D80, the Cap Corse West Coast road, or take the picturesque D333 via Patrimonio to reach the starting point directly in the hamlet of Bracolaccia. If possible, park within the hamlet of Bracolaccia or on the outskirts of Funtana Vechja, observing any signs.

(S/E) Head up the path on the left and, after about 50 metres, take the steps leading up to the left.

(1) Follow the short flight of steps and, at the top, turn left towards San Aurelio. Continue straight on until you reach the last houses.

(2) Once past the last houses, continue along the path. Further on, you’ll come to a junction. A sign indicates the change of direction.

(3) At the junction, take the path on the left and head uphill towards Bocca di San Leonardo. A little further on, you’ll reach another junction.

(4) At the new junction, by a water tower, continue climbing to the right. With no further junctions, you’ll reach the pass at an altitude of 855 metres.

(5) From Bocca di San Leonardo, turn left, heading north. Stay on the Cap Corse ridge in the same direction until you reach an altitude of 1,082 metres at the Col de San Jacintu.

(6) At the Col de San Jacintu, leave the ridge by taking the path down to the left towards the old iron mines at Farinole, A Ferrera.

(7) Reach A Ferrera, then continue the descent towards the hamlets of Bracolaccia and Funtana Vechja. Arrive at Funtana Vechja and make your way to the car park (S/E).
