Start at the town hall in Villiers-le-Mahieu. Park in the small car park opposite the town hall, along Rue du Centre.
Yellow markings
(S/E) Opposite the town hall, go round the building to the right and take a footpath. This turns right and leads to a small clearing. Cross the clearing diagonally to the left and follow the street to the left. At the end, turn right.
Yellow + Orange Markings
(1) At the Stop sign, go straight on into Rue des Longs Champs. Pass a dead-end on the left and continue straight on along a gravel track. Ignore a path branching off to the left. The marked path then turns sharply to the right (south-east). At the next junction, turn left at a sharp angle.
(2) About 200 m further on, turn right onto a path that leads into a wood. Climb slightly then follow a fence on your left. You’ll come out onto a small road; follow it straight on and cross the Chemin de la Sablière on your right.
(3) At the entrance to Thoiry, cross the D45 road and follow it to the right. After about a hundred metres, turn left onto the Chemin du Parc and follow thePR® no. 48. Descend gently along a gravel path. At the bottom, turn right with the path and walk alongside the wall of Thoiry Zoo on your left.
(4) At a fork in the road just after a forest gate, take the path on the left and continue through the undergrowth along the park wall. You will come out onto a road; follow it to the left (the path opposite, the oldPR® route, is blocked by a chain). Enter a wood.
(5) At the edge of the woods, take a path on the right. Stay on the edge of the woods, then enter the woods again.

At the junction (metal barriers), turn right onto the embankment of the Arve underground aqueduct. At the next junction (metal barriers), go straight on and pass a small masonry structure (aqueduct culvert).

(6) At the next junction, which is less clearly marked than the previous one, turn left (take care to spot this turn-off). Follow a path through the undergrowth. At the T-junction, turn right.
(7) At the crossroads of paths, turn left. The path narrows, bordered by a metal fence on the left. Leave the woods and continue straight on along a faint path through the grass. You will soon come to a good grassy path and continue straight on alongside gardens. Cross a small road, pass a farm shed on your left and continue along a path between the fields.
(8) At the T-junction, on the edge of the woods, turn right. At the corner of the woods, go straight on between the fields. Cross a small road at a place called Maizelan and walk past a beautiful farmhouse on your left. When the track turns left, veer right onto a path. Go straight on (north-west) between the fields.

(9) At the junction at the edge of a wood, turn left. Further on, turn right with the path and ignore a path coming from the left.

(10) At the first Fork in the road, take the path on the right (north). After a bend to the left, ignore a path branching off to the right. On the left-hand side, follow a hedge and then some farm buildings. The path gives way to a tarmac road. At the corner of the last house on the right, turn right and you will soon come to a path again. Ignore a path branching off to the left and you will come out onto a small road. Follow it to the left and you will immediately reach a junction.
No signposting
(11) Continue straight on along Chemin des Hergnies (tarmac). After the last house, cross a meadow along a faint path. Enter a wood and rejoin a good path. At the T-junction, turn right.
(12) You’ll come out onto a road; follow it to the left until you reach a junction in the centre of Ferranville. Then turn right onto Rue de Goupillières (note a beautiful wooden Pietà on the wall of a house on the right-hand side).
Yellow + Orange markings
Cross the Chemin des Fontaines on the right-hand side and continue straight on.
(13) After about 250 m, turn right onto a field path. Cross a copse and continue between the fields.
At the edge of another copse, the path turns left.
(14) At the end of the path, turn right onto a gravel track. You will soon come out onto a tarmac road; follow it straight on (caution: narrow verge).
(1) At the Stop sign, turn right into Rue des 24 Arpents. After a good fifty metres, turn left onto Allée des Prés. At the end, cross a small square diagonally to the right and take a path that starts between numbers 9 and 7. At the end, turn right and you’ll find the car park opposite the town hall (S/E).
