Before arriving at the abbey, turn right onto the small Rue des Caves to find the boules court car park at the end.
(S/E) Leaving the car park, turn left, cross the bridge and take the Chemin de Pomas for about 1 km to reach the highest point of the route. Be aware that the climb is continuous (average gradient of 8.75/100 with sections of 12) and must be climbed at a steady pace.
(1) At the top of the climb, continue slightly to the right for 75 metres.
(2) Go through the wooden gate on the side of the path. Walk about 50 metres along the fence. Go through two consecutive gates in the electric fences to reach the path on the left that continues the walk (see markings: a yellow line topped with a green dot and a yellow dot). The narrow path continues to climb gently and then arrives at the ridge, where the view of Saint-Hilaire is superb. After about 800 metres, you will reach a crossroads.
(3) Ignore the two paths that branch off to the left and take the path opposite. The markings change: the yellow dot disappears and is replaced by a yellow line topped with a green dot. After 450 metres, leave the path on the right and continue straight ahead. Continue for another 300 metres and then turn right. After 650 metres, you will come to a field. Walk along the right-hand side of the field and rejoin the path at the end. After 150 metres, the path slopes to the left. After 200 metres, the path widens and after 400 metres it joins the road from Pomas to Saint-Hilaire.
(4) Take this road on the right for about 300 metres, staying on the right-hand side of the D43 road.
(5) Go down the path that branches off to the right. Continue along this farm track, on the banks of the Lauquet, for just over 3 km.
(6) Turn right for 60 metres to reach the path at the top of the vineyards.
(7) Take the path on the left for almost 1 km to reach the entrance to the village.
(8) Take the first street on the right (Rue des Caves) to reach the boules court car park (S/E).
