Departure in front of the church of Saint-Polycarpe.
(S/E) Take the D 129 towards Buc. After the D 51 crossroads, turn left onto an uphill tarmac road and continue along the dirt track on the right, passing a villa, until you reach a wooden gate (close it behind you), then take the path on the right through a forest of holm oaks and heather.
(1) After the viewpoint over the Saint-Polycarpe stream valley, continue along the ridge path and go through another gate (close it behind you).
(2) At the crossroads of the Villar-Saint-Anselme Departmental Forest, turn left, leaving the two paths on the right, and descend along the vineyards.
(3) Take the path on the right towards Villar-Saint-Anselme and go straight through the village via Rue du Lavoir and Rue du Pont. Pass the town hall and the church, turn left onto Rue de l'Église, then right onto Chemin de la Traverse, which you follow to the left. Go down to the bridge, cross the D51 and take the tarmac road opposite, leaving the two paths on your right.
(4) At the signpost, go up the tarmac road and pass under the high-voltage power line.
(5) Turn left after the high-voltage line onto the dirt track going up towards the woods (note: the signpost on the left is poorly positioned 300- -metre after the fork). Pass a sign describing the mammals of the forest and leave the track on the right.
(6) Turn left at the sign for the Limoux Communal Forest and pass under the high-voltage power line again after taking the path on the right.
(7) Turn right, leaving the path on the left, exit the woods and descend via the tarmac road.
(8) At the electricity pylon, turn right, walk alongside the vineyard and continue along the dirt track.
(9) Turn right at the three-way junction indicating the Yves Duteil Arboretum, which has a picnic table. Then return to the path and descend to the right towards Saint-Polycarpe. Return to the starting point via Rue de la Sicarde and Rue des Oliviers (S/E).
