Bougnies and Quévy-le-Petit circular loop

This is a pleasant walk through rolling fields and quiet little streets, starting from the pretty village of Bougnies. Here you can discover the “living” statue on the site of the old, ruined open-air theatre.

Description of the walk

Park in the square on Rue Neuve in Bougnies.

(S/E) Turn left (north-east) onto Rue Neuve. Then take the street on the left and pass the Cascade du By. At the information sign, turn left and follow Rue Louis Piérard, which passes in front of the church and the school

(1) At the junction with Rue Notre-Dame-de-Lorette, where there is a small chapel on the corner of the house, turn left. Walk past the farm and follow the path through the meadows which descends to the hamlet of Le Blairon, keeping to the left. Cross over the By stream

(2) After the ornamental garden, turn left and go up the dirt track called Rue des Courbettes. At the junction with the chapel, go straight on along Rue du Point du Jour. Follow the street to the ford of the Ruisseau de Louvroit

(3) Go round the ford on the left and turn right onto Rue d’en Bas. When you reach Rue de Frameries, turn right towards the church.

(4) Walk up to the church and join Rue de Saint-Éloi. Follow it straight ahead and pass the cemetery.

(5) At the white house (Château de Saint-Éloi), take the path on the left running alongside the trees, cross the road and head straight on towards the wind turbines.

(6) Take the path on the left towards the chapel. Keep going straight, pass the junction and continue straight on.

(7) At the second junction, turn left onto the sunken path leading down towards Bougnies

(8) Go down the lane on the left, then turn left onto Rue des Rocs. Cross the small bridge and turn right onto the path that runs alongside the By and takes you back to Rue Neuve. Turn left towards the car park (S/E).
