The route starts from the town hall car park, 2 Place de l’Église.
(S/E) On leaving the car park, cross the bridge on the left. At the crossroads, turn right across Rue du Pont at the traffic lights. A few metres further on, cross Rue du Château at the pedestrian crossing and continue to the right for approximately 350 m.
(1) Turn left onto Chemin de la Forêt (signposted). You will reach the ‘PARC’ on your left (signposted).
(2) Continue straight on until you reach the T-junction.

(3) Turn slightly right and, at the next crossroads, turn left. At the following junction, turn left to reach a farm. Continue to the right until you reach a road (D1157).
(4) First turn left then right and continue along Rue de la Fontaine Richard. Ignore Rue du Chemin Creux on the left and head towards an X-junction.
(5) Turn left onto Rue des Millerus, then carry straight on until you reach the War Memorial. Cross the road carefully and continue to the right along the wide verge until you reach a pedestrian crossing.
(6) Cross over and head up the street opposite, Rue des Garennes. At the end of this street, turn immediately left down a path that runs alongside some houses. Cross the Passage des Gas and continue to the D933.
(7) First turn right then left to cross it. In Impasse du Moulin, pass by a well then immediately turn right onto a path bordered on the left by a fence. This path will soon turn left. Then ignore a path branching off to the right and, at the fork that comes up shortly afterwards, take the left-hand path, keeping as close as possible to the Vesgre. Further on, the path turns right, running alongside a fence. At the crossroads that comes up immediately, follow the GR®, the second path on the left, to the T-junction.
(8) Opposite the church, turn left and let the GR® head off to the right. Ignore a dead end on the left. Follow Rue du Moulin until you reach theD1157. Continue left for a few metres, then cross the road carefully and walk along the wide grassy verge on the right for about 450 m until you pass the ‘Berchères-sur-Vesgre’ sign.
(9) About ten metres further on, just before the 50 km/h speed limit sign, carefully cross theD1157 again and enter a wood via a small path at the corner of a fence. This path winds its way until it reaches a footbridge over the Vesgre. Turn right just before the footbridge and, further on, walk past a playground. Continue along Rue des Champs Filasses until you reach a T-junction.
(10) Turn left onto Rue de Rouvres, then left again onto Rue Gabriel Gabrio. Walk past the church on your right and you will immediately find the town hall car park on your left (S/E).
The online hikers who had done this route before had rated the description and route as ‘Very Good’... Others still who say it wasn’t precise enough and whom you ask for suggestions to improve the description... never reply!
