Point 1: Chipude, Church of Our Lady of Candelaria

Walking past the church, the church square and the Hôtel Sonia on your left, head back up the road you came down by car.
After 300m, to the left of the Bar la Hoya, take the cobbled lane on the left (GR®131, red and white markings). You will soon come to the tarmac road. Follow the red and white markings on the lamppost. You will rejoin the road again. Turn left, then our path climbs immediately to the left, at the level of the terraced fields. We climb initially parallel to the road. (Total ascent 300m)
After 600m, another road. On the right, a Disa petrol station. We turn left and walk along the carretera for 270m. We walk through the village of Apartadero. Then left again onto the road. (Total 900m). We pass the Los Camioneros bar. We leave the road and go down the steps to cross the Erque ravine. At the bottom of the steps, turn right. (Total 1.1km)
After 200m, we reach the village of Pavón. We cross the tarmac road again. We turn left. Keep to the right-hand side and take the wide paved path on the right towards the Igualero viewpoint (you’ll walk alongside a wire fence). When you see the Pavón sign, continue climbing to the right. (Total 1.3km)
After 400m, at the junction, we turn right to climb La Fortaleza, a natural monument. Follow the red and white markings (somewhat faded) to climb up. We will then return to this point and continue towards the Igualero viewpoint. (700m round trip). (Total 2.4km)
After 600m, we come back onto the road (it makes a U-turn ahead of us). We head downhill to the right. A sign informs us that we will be walking along the road for 700m. Very beautiful views of the Barranco de Erque. (Total 3km)
After 700m, we leave the road just after a right-hand bend and head up the path to the left (Mirador de Igualero signposted at 2.9 km). (Total 3.7 km)
During the climb, you’ll have lovely views of La Fortaleza.
After 700m, there is a high-voltage power line on the right. (Total 4.4km) - After 400m, we pass through the bed of the Barranco de Erque. Then we pass a second high-voltage power line. (Total 4.8km)
After 600m, we pass the third high-voltage power line. Immediately after, a barrier secures the path. (Total 5.4km)
After 200m, turn onto the path furthest to the left. (Total 5.6km)
After 400m, a path on the right leads to Erquito and Arguayoda. We continue straight on, then immediately left before a goat pen (poorly marked path). You’ll reach the road a few metres further up. (Total 6km)
On the road, we turn right.
After 500m, we arrive at Igualero, our GPS point no. 2
Point 2: Igualero (Total 6.5 km)

To the left, you can head to the Igualero viewpoint. We continue straight on. To the right, you will see a bus stop. Cross the road and take the steps on the left towards Alto de Garajonay, signposted 2 km away. At the foot of the steps, we cross a small dry riverbed.
After 400m, we reach a forest track. Turn left. (Total 6.9 km)
After 1.1 km, we make a detour to the right to reach the summit of La Gomera, Garajonay. Follow the signs for Alto de Garajonay. (Total: 8 km)
We reach the summit after 500m. Then return to the junction and continue right towards Laguna Grande via Ruta 14. (Total 9.3 km)
After 500m, at the junction, continue straight on along the tarmac road (on the left, a dirt track). You have a lovely view of La Fortaleza on the left. (Total 9.8 km)
After 900m, turn left onto the track. Immediately after, continue straight on towards Chipude, then turn right at the next junction. (Total 10.7km)
After 300m, turn left onto Ruta 18 (Chipude signposted 2.6km away) (Total 11km)
After 1.3 km, you’ll come to a tarmac road, at the sign for Casa Rural Los Manantiales.
Point 3: Casa Los Manantiales (Total 12.3 km)

Cross the road and go down the steps. Just after the first stone house, turn left (between the two houses). Then follow the signs for Chipude.
You will be walking across terraced fields. When you reach a white house, head down to the right onto the narrow path.
After 800m, you’ll reach a small rocky plateau. Follow the cairns (turn slightly left). The path is then marked by two rows of stones. (Total 13.1km)
When you reach a paved road, turn right. Continue to the church of Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria. (Total: 13.7 km)
