(6) From here, the walk becomes more challenging. Begin the ascent and head towards Falkenstein Castle.

(7) Here you have two options:

- otherwise, continue to the left, cross the woods and then follow the edge of the woods along the Nat'Our 5 Vianden-Falkenstein trail.
After a road junction, you’ll reach a spot directly beneath the power lines.

A superb walk, mostly through woodland, perfect for dogs provided they’re fit enough to keep up!

You can take a shortcut between stages 3 and 4 to avoid point 5 and cross the Our opposite the Société Électrique de l’Our on Rue de l’Energie. However, this shortcut requires you to leave the beaten track for a few dozen metres, as the path shown on the map no longer exists.

Warning
Walk completed in late July 2021, following the major floods in mid-July in Luxembourg and Germany. The route has been affected: from point 5 onwards, bridges have collapsed under the weight of rocks carried by the rivers during the bad weather, and numerous trees have fallen along the paths. A tree had even fallen across the path about twenty metres ahead of us, giving us quite a fright.

Check with the local authorities if possible!
