If you are driving to the starting point, you can park in the car park not far from the health centre and Argouges Primary School.
(S/E) From the car park, head due east along the path running alongside the school, then turn left at a 90° angle onto the path heading due north which passes between houses.
(1) Continue straight on until you finally leave the built-up area and reach the tree-lined dirt track between the fields. After about 1 km, cross the D153 and continue straight on, still heading due north, walking along the side of the road. Take care, even though it is a minor road.
(2) Take the stabilised sand track straight ahead that runs alongside the road and do not take the path that leads down to the river, perpendicular to the road. Continue along the road with a view of the pastures and their inhabitants. After about 600 m, walk past the Haizerie farm where, depending on the day and time, you can enjoy some delicious homemade milk ice cream. Continue northwards and walk past the farm.
(3) Immediately after, turn onto the straight path on the right, cross the bridge over the Aure and continue along this path, which climbs slightly for about 300 m.
(4) Leave this country lane by taking the one on the right that winds through the trees, offering views over the Aure valley between the fields. This path continues by veering to the right and then descends back down to the valley floor to cross the Aure again, before following its course. Before rejoining the D153, take a short detour to the left to see the church at Vaux-sur-Aure and the waterworks on the river. It’s absolutely lovely!
(5) Turn back and rejoin the route by turning left.
(6) Cross the D15 to join the Voie Verte located just opposite. This continues for just over a kilometre before re-entering the village of Bayeux and its first houses.
(7) Take the first street on the right in the housing estate, Rue André Malraux. Walk past the houses and turn into the cul-de-sac on the right, which takes you back onto the path you took on the way out.
(1) Turn left and continue in the opposite direction to reach the car park after passing the school (S/E).
