Park in the large municipal car park opposite the Auberge des Monts de Ryes, Rue d'Arromanches.
(S/E) From the car park, turn left onto Rue d'Arromanches.
(1) At the triangular crossroads near the town hall, turn right and then right again into Rue de la Place. Turn left with the street, cross Route de Bayeux and continue straight ahead on the D87 (Route de Bazenville).
(2) After about 100 metres, turn left onto a small road leading to a housing estate. Drive through the estate to the end. Continue along the passageway that leads to the dirt track.
(3) Turn left towards Asnelles. Continue straight ahead along the "la Gronde" stream.
(4) Cross the D65 and head towards the village of Asnelles. Continue straight ahead until you reach the beach.
(5) Continue along the path on the left, following the coast to the end of the sea wall.
(6) Continue left (west) along the recently built Voie Verte (greenway) which runs alongside the D514. Cross the small village of Saint-Côme-de-Fresné before arriving at the viewpoint overlooking Arromanches and its artificial harbour. If you wish, there is an alternative route via the beach that avoids part of the greenway and follows the road instead. This alternative route takes you from Asnelles to the village of Saint-Côme-de-Fresné.
(7) Continue along the greenway, descend and pass in front of the circular cinema "Arromanches 360". At the traffic lights by the little train, turn right to reach the village of Arromanches. Pass in front of the tank that dominates the town. At the bottom, reach the sea and cross the dyke in front of the museum.
(8) Leave Arromanches via Rue du Petit Pontaine at the end of Place du Musée and its car park, then follow Rue Mounbatten (D514).
(9) Turn right just after the cemetery on the left, onto the D65, and 100 m further on, take the rural path on the right.
(10) After about 400 metres, turn left and continue on theGR®223until you reach the junction with another rural road.
(11) Leave the farm on your left and take the rural path that goes up to the right. Continue along this dirt track to Mont Pottin, then descend towards Ryes.
(12) Take the path on the left, which is protected by wooden barriers. You will now be above Saint-Martin Church.
(13) About 400 metres further on, take the path that descends to the right. Turn left onto this path and head towards the village of Ryes. You will come out onto the D205; follow it to the right. When the road turns left, veer right and leave the war memorial on your left.
(1) Continue straight ahead and you will soon come to the car park where you started on your right (S/E).
