(S/E) The first two kilometres on tarmac at the exit of Grandrieu will be quickly covered and forgotten as soon as you enter (2) the Bois communal des Hérimonts (3).
(4) At the edge of the woods – or rather, the edge of the forest, as it is almost entirely circular to avoid disturbing the wildlife – hikers can enjoy nearly 6 kilometres of pretty, gently rolling countryside before reaching the edge of another forest, this one private, and walking along it for 2 kilometres.
Once you have crossed the road linking Beaumont to Solre-le-Château, the route winds through the countryside of Hestrud to the Château de Lanthier (9), which it bypasses to enter the woods, leaving them only well after the Pont de la République bridge over the Thure (10).
On the way back, the walk passes by some impressive wind turbines.
This beautiful circular loop allows you to discover the tranquillity of the countryside and forest in the triangle formed by the communes of Beaumont-Sivry-Rance and Solre-le-Château, as well as the Château de Lanthier, a magnificent white spot in its forest setting.
