Park in the car park on Place Jean Dusausoy (opposite the Bar de la Piscine and mini-market).
(S/E) Follow the main street (Rue de Beauvais) south-east and, after about 200 m, take a farm track on the right, between a fence on the left and a brick house on the right. This pleasant path is lined with hedges and pastures as you leave the village, then opens up as you reach the fields.
After about 2 km, at the end of an uphill stretch, you will come to a crossroads with a clear view of Saint-Germain-la-Poterie and its bell tower.
(1) Turn right onto the path that descends towards large agricultural sheds, before climbing back up towards the village. When you reach the crossroads with the main street, turn left, heading south. After passing the town hall and the church, turn right at the first crossroads at the triangular square (Place J-Ph. Bouvilliers)
(2) Turn right immediately onto Rue Grand-Mère. After about 700 metres, you will come to a crossroads marked by a cross on the left. Turn right onto Rue des Tuileries and continue for 60 metres.
(3) In the right-hand bend, turn left onto a path that descends quite steeply behind a house. This path meets a farm track that climbs up to the left. Turn right to find a path that runs along the bottom of the valley.
Note: near Fond Cendrot, there may be a chain across the path. However, this path is public, even though it mainly serves private forests. In agreement with the town hall, this chain was installed because motorbikes and other quad bikes do not respect the prohibitions and ride recklessly on paths, meadows and forests. So don't hesitate to climb over this chain.
Follow this path downstream, then continue for about 2.5 km, first shaded between pastures, then through varied forests, first oak and beech, then spruce, then, as the ground becomes sandy, pine and birch. Ignore the various minor branches and continue on the main path until you reach the D501.
From this point: yellow markings
(4) Cross over and take the path opposite that climbs into the forest, then descends and crosses a wetland after 1 km. The path then climbs again and meets aGR®® signpost at a crossroads.
(5) Turn right and reach a small tarmac road.
(6) Take it opposite. Pass a large farm on the left and, 500 m further on, after passing an old thatched building at the bottom left of the pasture, find a good forest path that climbs at a right angle to the right into the forest.
(7) Leave theGR®® via this path, still marked in yellow, which leads to a reservoir at the highest point. About 1 km after the reservoir, you will reach a crossroads with five paths.
(8) Leave the main path and take the one that descends between two embankments on the left. This path leads directly to Savignies. Head towards the church and the old cider press on display in the square, then turn right onto the main street to reach the car park (S/E).
. Too bad it was raining!
