Description of the walk

Set off from the Grémévillers cemetery car park, along the D930.

(S/E) Cross the D930. Please be careful, as vehicles sometimes drive fast. Continue straight on towards the village until you reach a junction at the foot of the church.

(1) Turn right and, after about 150 m, ignore another road on the left.

(2) When the road bends to the left, leave it and continue straight on along a dirt track.

(3) The junction is a bit tricky, so make sure you go straight on, heading down towards the valley opposite. Carry on straight ahead until you reach Roy-Boissy.

(4) At Moulin Vertu, keep to the right and follow the valley towards Boissy. Stay on the main road and ignore any side roads. At the entrance to the village of Boissy, note the wash house on the left.

(5) Then take the first street on the right. Continue along a path through the woods.

(6) At the T-junction, turn left. Immediately ignore a turn-off on the right and follow the path which climbs south-south-west through the woods (take care to spot the start of this path). At the top, walk alongside a field on your left. Ignore a turn-off to the left (marker 170) and then one to the right (marker 161). At the end of the track, continue along the tarmac road. At the next junction, turn left.

(7) Cross the D930 with care and follow the small road opposite. Walk past the Fromagerie de la Chapelle Saint-Jean. At the corner by a pond, turn right. Continue along a path. Head west-south-west and, at a fork in the road, keep left. You’ll reach the little Chapel of Notre-Dame du Bonsecours (formerly situated at the junction of the carriage tracks).

(8) Turn right, cross the cemetery; there is a small gate – this is much safer than following the D930 to reach the car park (S/E).

Hello,

I’d been eyeing up this route for quite some time. I was a bit daunted by the prospect of being out in the flat countryside in winter. But not at all. A real variety of scenery takes you through unexpected landscapes, amongst fields, woods and valleys, perfectly maintained grassy paths, and historic brick and pottery heritage. This walk is so splendid that I did it twice in quick succession (which I don’t usually like doing), one week after the other, to show it to some friends. They were both delighted. An absolute must-do in Picardy. Very easy (barely 10 km) and, to top it all off, there’s a large vending machine at the end where you can buy delicious organic bread fresh from the morning’s bake, locally grown organic fruit and vegetables, local cheese (Petit Bray), organic chicken and other tasty treats....
Brilliant
