Start in front of the Lacaune spinning museum (recommended visit, bookings via the tourist office).
(S/E) Go under the bridge and go up Rue de Peyruc, then turn left into Rue de Briannes and turn right at the end.
(1) Take the very shady path on the left that goes uphill and follow it straight ahead towards the south-east for several kilometres, passing a few crossroads, including a road to Roc des Écus.
(2) Enjoy the view from the first summit before continuing along the path that climbs to the left, south-west towards Montalet (signpost).
(3) When you reach the road, turn left and follow it until you come to an entrance to a large field on the left. It is difficult to describe this junction any better, so keep a close eye on your position on the route!
(4) Leave the road and go through the passage between the barbed wire fences and continue straight ahead.

Be careful not to cross the barbed wire, but continue on theGRP® to reach the fork after (6) at elevation 1157.
(5) After crossing another barbed wire fence, there are two options:
- Take the path that branches off to the left to shorten the walk by about 45 minutes and go directly to point 8.
- Continue straight ahead, crossing another barrier, following the description below.
(6) At the edge of the forest, cross another barbed wire fence before descending through a beautiful beech forest. You will come to a crossroads. Head due north. Please note: there are several parallel paths, but to avoid getting lost, it is best to stay on the left, heading due north.
(7) This is a fork like many others in this forest, but it is important here to turn left, heading due north, to avoid going towards Gandilhou (a long detour!).
If you come out onto a large sloping field, you have taken the wrong path!
Then continue downhill, taking the paths on the left that descend at each junction.
(8) When you reach the tarmac road, take the wide, almost flat dirt track on the left and continue straight ahead, passing a few houses in the forest.
(9) When you reach the stream, take the path on the left that follows it downhill.
(10) At one point, you will need to enter a field and then exit at the bottom, taking care not to fall when crossing the stream! When you are on the road, turn right and follow Rue de Peyroc until you find the museum on your right (S/E).
