Circular in Cany-Barville via Lac de Caniel

Parking and departure from the Champ de Foire car park, Route de Bosville.

(S/E) Head towards the old station at the end of the car park on the town side. Opposite the green signpost of a route, turn left onto the Véloroute du Lin and continue to the second X-junction at the end of the car park.

(1) Continue straight ahead, still on the cycle route, for about 1,650 metres until you reach the first turning on the right. Go up the slight hill and continue to Route de Bosville. Turn left onto this road towards the Ferme de la Haute Commanville opposite and on your left, until you reach the X-shaped crossroads after the farm, just before the left-hand bend.

(2) Turn right at Haut de Barville, GR® signpost. At the last house, continue straight ahead along a path leading down into the woods. At the bottom, take Route de Barville on the left and turn right at the first turn towards the church. Continue straight ahead; Château de Cany-Barville is on the left at the end of the field. Continue to the first turn on the right.

(3) Take the road on the right and, after a few metres on the cycle path, turn right to follow the Véloroute du Lin for 670 m until you reach the first house. About 30 metres before the house, leave the Véloroute and turn left, following the sign for Chemin des Poètes on your left, then turn right. Follow the street to the right, between the houses, residences of the Fontaine de la Croix. Continue to the stop sign, Rue Georges Carel, turn right onto the D131 until you reach number 20, which is on the left, on the other side of the road.

(4) Turn right onto Impasse de la Cour Souveraine, following the cycle path. At the T-junction, take the road on the right and then immediately the one on the left before the small building, Impasse du Centre. At the stop sign, cross the road, turning left and then right onto Rue Hôme. At the X-junction, continue straight ahead, passing the school on your right and continuing for about 50 metres.

(5) Cross the road and enter the Clos Saint-Martin park. Take the left-hand path, ignoring the path that branches off to the right. Cross the small bridge on the right and turn left again before the second bridge. Follow the path and head towards the barrier after the small bridge that follows. Leave the park, take the D10 on the right and immediately turn right again onto Rue du Lac, until you reach the pedestrian crossing at the Clasville sign.

(6) Cross the road, go up the steps and turn left. Follow the road to the stop sign, Rue des Six Acres. Turn right into this street, going against the traffic, and continue along the path that goes downhill until you reach the road again, Rue du Lac.

(7) Turn left, ignore the road on the right and turn right a little further on to enter the Parc de Loisirs du Lace de Caniel. At the lake, take the path on the left, pass the pedalo and summer toboggan areas and walk around the lake. Go to the bridge on your left, with the sailing area on your right. Turn left, cross the bridge, with an old ruined mill on your right.

(8) Turn right onto Route de Veulettes, pass the swimming pool, cross the car park and continue between the Sporticaux sports complex and the tennis courts. At the end, follow the tarmac path on the right, cross the bridge and turn left onto Avenue Maximiliansau.

(9) Turn right and then immediately left onto Rue Greenock. At the X-shaped crossroads, continue straight ahead onto Rue de la Filature until you reach the T-junction. Turn left onto Rue du Général de Gaulle. Cross the road, go over the bridge and continue for 50 metres until you reach the first turning on the right.

(10) Turn right, passing under the house, Impasse du Radet. At the end, take the path on the left, pass in front of the town hall and continue under the building. At the road (D88), continue straight ahead to Place du 8 Mai 1945, go to the old station and join the car park (S/E).
