Zénith de Pau car park, north side, before the bridge. Accessible from the city of Pau by bus no. 5.
(S/E) Enter the woods via the bridge over the motorway. Leave the central path and take the first path on the left, heading north-west (signposted).
(1) Turn right onto the path at the edge of the woods (north-east) and cut across the end of the following paths (signs).
(2) Leave the woods via a straight path, continuing in the same direction and crossing a stream.
(3) At the crossroads (elevation 210), turn right onto the farm track (south-west). This leads to theGR®® trail, which you follow straight ahead for about 200 metres.
(4) Leave theGR®® on your right (this will be the way back) and continue straight ahead along Chemin des Platanes to the D222, Route de Buros.
Please note: this section is only passable in winter and spring. From July onwards, it becomes overgrown with vegetation. Shortly before this waypoint: turn left then right onto the small road running parallel to the north-east, called Chemin Morlanné, until you reach the D222, Route de Buros.
(5) Follow it carefully to the left for 500 m.
(6) Before the bridge, take the path on the left to follow the Luy-de-Béarn river on its left bank. You will reach a small road at Pont de Cartau.
(7) Continue to follow the Luy and walk alongside the plots of the Gaurrat nursery.
(8) Turn left (south-southwest) onto the pleasantly shaded Chemin de Petit. At the end, rejoin the path you took on the way there in the cultivated plain. Turn left and continue for 150 m.
(4) Turn right, following the red and whiteGR®® markings. Santiago de Compostela is less than 1,000 km away; cross more of the nursery's fields. Pass the first houses.
(9) Leave the small road and continue on theGR®® trail, turning right towards the woods (north-west).
(10) At the entrance to the woods, turn left onto the path along the edge. You can also go straight ahead and choose one of the crossroads to the left further on.
(11) Take thefirst lane on the north-west (alternatively, continue along the edge and take thesecond lane). After about 1.4 km, you will come to the central tarmac lane of the woods. Turn left to return to the car park or bus stop near the Zénith (S/E).
