Park in the stadium car park, 1 Rue des Écoles in Rontignon.
The yellow markings (route no. 8) are not present on a large part of the route.
(S/E) From the car park, head towards the town hall.
(1) Cross Rue des Pyrénées (D37) and take Rue du Vieux Bourg opposite. At the next crossroads, turn right onto Chemin des Sources. Cross a stream. Shortly after a left-hand bend in the road, look for a path on the left.
(2) Leave the road and turn left onto this path which climbs into the woods. After about 250 m, at a fork, turn right. Ignore the paths or trails that branch off to the left or right and continue to the edge of the woods where you will reach the hamlet of Cazaubou.
(3) Continue straight ahead on the small road (Chemin de Castagnou). Ignore a road coming from the left (cross), go straight ahead and pass the hamlet of Sabaric (houses behind a grove).
(4) Immediately afterwards, leave the road and take a small path on the right (Chemin Passabet). Continue straight ahead, heading west. You will come out onto a small road (Chemin de la Glandée).
(5) Follow it to the left. At the next junction, turn right onto the D209 and walk for about 500 metres.
(6) Just before La Chartreuse (castle), turn sharply left and follow a path down into the forest. Cross a stream (dry in summer), then descend briefly to the right.
(7) At the bottom of the descent, turn left and pass under a high-voltage power line. At the fork, take the Chemin des Bartots on the left, pass under the high-voltage power line again and go back up.
(8) When the path turns sharply to the left, take a trail on the right. Continue climbing through the woods. At the edge of the woods, you will reach a crossroads (Vierge) and find yourself back on Route de Piétat.
(9) Follow it to the right. At the next intersection, take Chemin de Montalibet on your left, which descends gently. At the end of the tarmac road, continue along a path that descends more steeply. You will come out onto Chemin de Lasbouries.
(10) Follow it to the right. Ignore a small road coming from the left and continue straight ahead.
(11) Turn left onto Chemin de Lasbouries, leaving Chemin de Cassieu on your right. Then turn right and continue straight ahead (north-northeast).
(12) At the intersection, go straight ahead and cross a stream. Ignore a lane on the right and, at the next intersection, go straight ahead to the church.
(13) Turn right to immediately join the D37 and follow it to the left. Ignore a street on the left and then one on the right and return to the junction you took at the very beginning of the walk (town hall).
(1) Turn right and you will soon reach the stadium car park (S/E).
