Start: Friedrichshafen Stadt railway station
(S) From here, we first walk towards Friedrichshafen's Stadtgarten, which already offers the first green impressions.
(1) Shortly afterwards, we reach the shore of Lake Constance and follow the yellow hiking signs towards Eriskirch along the water.
(2) After a short while, we pass Friedrichshafen harbour and the famous Zeppelin Museum, which is located directly on the waterfront promenade. The trail continues across a car park and into the Eriskircher Ried nature reserve – one of the most beautiful and ecologically valuable areas around Lake Constance. Here we enjoy sweeping views over the Ried and the lake – an ideal spot for nature photography or a first short break.
(3) A little later, a turnoff to the right leads to the first viewing platform. From here, there is a magnificent panoramic view of the typical Ried landscape and Lake Constance. We continue on a pleasant nature trail to the second viewing platform.
(4) This offers more great views. Back on the main path, we continue to follow the signs through the Eriskircher Ried. Finally, a path to the right leads directly to the Eriskirch lido, the end point of this relaxed hike. Especially on warm days, it is worth taking a longer break here or a refreshing dip in Lake Constance (E).
Return journey: If you wish, you can walk back to Friedrichshafen along the same route or take the nearby train connection from Eriskirch station for the return journey.
