From Saint-Gervais d'Auvergne, take the D523 towards Sauret-Besserve. Car park in front of Sauret-Besserve town hall. Starting signpost at the side of the D523, 50 m west of the town hall.
(S/E) From the start sign, head towards the church and turn left down the road towards Chabassière. Pass the houses and follow the dirt track until you reach a road.
(1) Follow it to the left, passing through Bayet, then over the railway line. Continue to the D523 (picnic area) and follow it to the left for 100 m.
(2) Take the first street on the left, then cross Besserve. After the hamlet and as you approach the D523 again, turn left onto the grassy path (signposted: Site de la Résistance). At the small road, head down to the left until you reach the edge of the hamlet of Le Fournial.
(3) At the last house in the hamlet, turn right, then at the fork 50 metres further on, turn left. Head down through the forest to a clearing on the banks of the Sioule.
(4) At the bend in the clearing, take the flat path on the left, overlooking the circular bend in the Sioule. After the hydroelectric power station, head back up to the D513.
(5) Head down the road to the right and cross the hamlet of Chambonnet until you reach the sign: Site de la Résistance.
(6) Take the road on the left, pass a memorial stone and continue to the right along the path that runs alongside the Sioule and leads to the Cascade des Trois Cuves.
(7) Retrace your steps and, when you reach the memorial stone, head up to the right.
(6) Continue to the right, between the houses in the hamlet. Further on, cross the D513 and continue straight up the hill. At a fork, keep left to rejoin the D513. Follow it to the left and turn left again to return to the starting point (S/E).
