The walk starts and ends at the Schernetz car park and rest area below Itterswiller, on the left of the D35 (Wine Route) towards Nothalten.
(S/E) Head back up towards the village along the D35. At the fork, keep left and take Rue de Steige. Cross the Route du Vin with caution and head up the Route Romaine, marked with a red ring. After the last houses, at the first crossroads with a cross, keep to the left, then at the next crossroads, turn left again (Haydiweg) and at the next crossroads, turn left again towards a viewpoint with an interesting circular view of the region.
(1) Set off again, going around the viewpoint on the right, looking towards the south-west, and take a path that descends (red disc). Cross the Route de Vin again, taking care, and follow it to the right for a few metres, then take the path (red disc) that turns left.
(2) Cross the road (D253) with caution and take the path that climbs gently through the woods and partly follows the road (yellow disc + red ring). Continue to Bernardvillé.
(3) In the village, take the main road D602, pass or visit the church, pass the school and take the first road on the right (Chemin du Talweg) for about 100 metres.
(4) Then take the Talrainweg on the left, pass the cemetery on your left and keep left. Follow the road (Red Cross + Yellow Disc) until you reach Reichsfeld via the Chemin du Leh.
(5) Pass the church, then take the third street on the left, then left at the end of this street. At the next fork, turn right onto Rue Brunnen and at the next fork, stay on your right (red-white-red rectangle).
(6) Go up to the Wolfey Oratory, pass the small chapel and continue to the Sentier Véronica.
(7) About 300 m before reaching the D202, turn right without taking the downhill road.
At the crossroads, turn right (yellow disc + red ring) until you reach the old Baumgarten Abbey.
(8) Visit the Chapel of the 14 Saints or turn right onto the path that runs alongside the abbey buildings (red disc + yellow cross).
(9) Cross the D253 with caution and continue on the path marked with a yellow circle. At the fork, keep left (red disc + yellow cross) and continue until you reach a road.
(10) Take a quick right/left turn on this road and after 300 m you will arrive at the car park (S/E).
