Start and finish at the Schernetz car park and rest area, situated below Itterswiller on the left of the D35 (Route des Vins) heading towards Nothalten.
(S/E) Head back up towards the village along the D35; at the Fork in the road, keep left and take Rue de Steige. Cross the Wine Route with care and follow the Route Romaine, marked with a Red Ring. After the last houses, at the first junction with a cross, keep to the left-hand path, then at the next junction, turn left again (Haydiweg) and at the following junction, turn left once more towards a viewpoint offering an interesting panoramic view of the region.
(1) Continue by going round the viewpoint to the right, facing south-west, and take a path that leads downhill (Red Disc). Cross the Route du Vin again, taking care, and follow it to the right for a few metres, then take the path (Red Disc) that veers to the left.
(2) Cross the road (D253) with care and take the path that climbs gently through the woods and partly follows the road (Yellow Disc + Red Ring). Continue to Bernardvillé.
(3) In the village, take the main road D602, walk past or visit the church, pass the school and take the first path on the right (Chemin du Talweg) for about a hundred metres.
(4) Then take Talrainweg on the left, pass the cemetery on your left and keep to the left. Follow the path (Red Cross + Yellow Disc) until you reach Reichsfeld via Chemin du Leh.
(5) Pass the church, then take the third street on the left, then left at the end of it. At the next Fork in the road, turn right onto Rue Brunnen and at the next one, keep to your right (Red Rectangle-White Rectangle-Red Rectangle).
(6) Walk up to the Wolfey Oratory, pass the small chapel and continue to the Sentier Véronica.
(7) About 300 m before reaching the D202, turn right onto a downhill path.
At the junction, turn right (Yellow Disc + Red Ring) towards the former Baumgarten Abbey.
(8) Visit the Chapel of the 14 Saints or turn right onto the path that runs alongside the abbey buildings (Red Disc + Yellow Cross).
(9) Cross the D253 with care and continue along the path marked with a Yellow Circle. At the Fork in the road, keep left (Red Disc + Yellow Cross) and continue until you reach a road.
(10) After a quick right-left turn on this road, you will reach the car park after 300 m (S/E).
