Park at the football stadium, Route de Finkwiller towards Itterswiller. If there is a match, you can also park along the cemetery and take the route at point (4).
(S/E) Return to the main road and cross at the pedestrian crossing to go up the street opposite.
(1) At the top of the street, turn left towards the village via Rue de la Montagne. Pass in front of the new nursing home (or its 2025 construction site) and arrive at the crossroads where the calvary known as "Drei krizer" stands.
(2) Go down to the left and then turn right onto Rue des Écoles. At the crossroads, go down to the left, passing the current nursing home, and join the junction with Rue Finkwiller.
(3) Turn right, go around the roundabout on the main road on the right using the pedestrian crossings slightly to the right and continue to the path that leads off to the right towards the cemetery. Take this path.
(4) At the corner of the cemetery, turn left down Rue Diebweg, a long concrete path, until you reach the end of the plain, ignoring any crossroads.
(5) Turn right towards the village and the Chapel of Sainte-Marguerite, a beautiful Romanesque chapel with an ossuary and a medieval garden. The cemetery is reserved for residents of Rue Sainte-Marguerite.
(6) Visit the chapel if the gate is open. Otherwise, continue straight ahead for about 100 metres and turn left onto Rue des Champs. Turn right towards the new district of Epfig and follow the road uphill.
(7) Before the housing estate, turn left (south) onto the next concrete path and continue straight ahead until you reach the T-junction.
(8) Turn right and join the national road, which has become the D1422.
(9) Take care when crossing, continue along a row of grassy vines opposite to join the path. Turn left then right at the first junction. Keep left at the three-way junction then continue straight ahead at the junction, following the Anneau Bleu markings.
(10) Continue to the right: there are a few muddy patches in wet weather, but you can walk on the grassy edges. You will come out onto the D703.
(11) Take the departmental road towards the village for about 200 metres, then turn left onto the concrete path well known to runners of the "10 km d'Epfig" race. Then begin a steep climb (to be avoided in very hot weather)! Keep going in the same direction until you reach the edge of the woods, where the Epfig water tower is buried, as this is the highest point.
(12) Go straight down through the woods, then turn right to reach the crossroads opposite the houses.
(13) Turn right, then left at the end of the street to rejoin the starting route.
(1) Continue straight ahead, cross the main road and return to the stadium car park (S/E).
