Car park at Place de l'Église.
(S/E) Opposite the hiking signs, turn right onto Rue François Albert, which passes in front of the primary school. Continue along this street, leaving the two junctions with Rue des Villiers on your right.
At the crossroads (with give way sign), turn right onto Rue de la Croix, which goes downhill.
(1) At the top of the hairpin bend, follow the road that leaves Béruges and passes at the foot of the château (Route de la Ferrandière).
Take the first tarmac road on the right towards Jean Moulin/Le Gué des Roches, passing alongside the water treatment plant.
(2) At Jean Moulin, turn right onto the tarmac road that crosses the Boivre river via two bridges.
Continue straight ahead on the dirt track. Look for a pink marker at the next crossroads and continue straight ahead.
(3) At the tarmac road (Gaudent), turn left. Cross the D40 (carefully) and continue straight ahead along Rue du Lac.
(4) Turn onto the first path on the right that leads into the forest (return of the pink markings).
At the first fork, continue left, then at the next junction, leave the pink markings by turning right and then immediately left at the yellow arrow.
Continue along this path at the bottom of the valley, leaving the first path that climbs up on your right.
At the T-junction, turn left (blue andGR® markings) and continue along this path, which curves to the right and crosses the Ruisseau de la Torchaise stream opposite the Prêle aqueduct (built at the end of the 19th century on the route of a Gallo-Roman aqueduct).
(5) After the aqueduct, continue straight ahead on theGR® which climbs into the forest. At the edge of the path, you will come across an inspection well providing access to the underground section of the aqueduct.
At the top of the hill, stay on theGR® trail, which continues straight ahead. At the next T-junction, turn right.
(6) Once you reach Route du Bois Canais, leave theGR® by turning right and then quickly left (Rue des Chails) into a small housing estate.
At the end of the street, leave the blue markings by turning right. Return to the pink markings.
Continue straight ahead, leaving Rue de l'Aqueduc on your right, and when the tarmac road becomes a dirt track, continue in the same direction.
At the water treatment plant, take the path on the right.
Once you reach the road, turn left down towards La Boivre and cross the bridge.
(7) Take the path opposite the bridge marked by two green barriers. You are walking on an old Roman road. At the top, continue straight on towards Place de l'Église (S/E).
