Start at Avenue de Lorch, in the Saint-Nicolas car park (carpooling area), in front of the Saint-Benoît hiking signs.
(S/E) Leave the car park and turn right onto Avenue de Lorch, towards the village. Continue along this avenue, past Cookham Gardens, the town hall and then the church.
After the church, continue left on the same street until you reach the crossroads. Cross Rue de Mauroc and continue on the small car park opposite. After passing the war memorial, turn right onto Rue du Square at the car park exit, towards the Bistrô de Saint-Benoît.
(1) Just in front of the Bistrô, at the fork, turn right towards the Fauquerie car park. Immediately after crossing the small bridge, turn left onto the small dirt track that runs alongside the Miosson and then bends to the right.
At the fork at the foot of the ochre house, turn left and continue along this path.
(2) Once you reach the Route de Gençay (D741), go up it to the right; the dirt track continues a little further on, on the other side of the main road, just after the property at no. 317. Be careful when crossing, as the road is busy and cars drive fast.
Continue along the path through the woods.
(3) At the fork, take the path on the left that runs alongside the Miosson.
At the next crossroads, continue straight ahead, still on the path that follows the course of the Miosson.
(4) Just after passing a first bridge on the left (without crossing it), cross the second bridge over the Miosson at the crossroads. Follow the dirt road with white stones uphill, ignoring the first descent on the left and then the two paths on the right.
At the top of the climb, the road becomes tarmac along a housing estate (Route de Fontarnaud).
Take the first street on the left (Chemin du Val Béni).
(5) At the T-junction with Rue du Puy Joubert, turn right.
Take the path on the left, just after the gate at No. 14. The path descends between gardens to the Route du Petit Saint-Benoît; at this point, turn right.
The road rejoins the D741, cross (always carefully) and continue straight ahead into Rue du Square.
(6) Turn right at the first turn and take the small path that immediately branches off to the right along a residential area.
At the tarmac road (Chemin de la Cybellerie), turn left and continue along this road.
(7) At No. 4, take the small path that branches off to the left. Stay on this path until it ends in a small park with fitness equipment. At this point, continue straight ahead, following the signs. After the second sign, on the area overlooking the village of Saint-Benoît, go straight ahead and slightly to the right towards the church; the path crosses a low wall and descends two flights of steps into the rear courtyard of a building. Exit to the right onto the street by crossing the porch (this passage is a little surprising, but the markings clearly indicate that it is part of the route).
(8) Once on the street, continue to the right to reach Route de Poitiers; cross this road and follow it down to the left, then around the bend to the right (towards the town hall), then continue straight on Rue de la Cure, which joins Avenue de Lorch.
Turn right and continue to the car park to return to the starting point (S/E).
