Park in the designated spaces on Rue de l’École. It is also possible to start from Barc Town Hall.
This route partly follows a route marked with yellow signposts as well as theGR®224.
(S/E) Opposite the school, turn right towards Rue de l’Église (yellow markings), pass the town hall and continue straight on until you reach the Fork in the road before the church. Take the road on the right and, at the junction with Rue du Pressoir, turn right again. At the next Fork in the road, turn left into Rue du Val and continue until you reach Rue des Cottins. Carry on straight ahead, crossing the central reservation to reach Rue de Conches (D32).
(1) Continue almost directly opposite along the Chemin des Vignes, marked in yellow, through the Bois de Saint-Léger until you reach Rue de la Mare.
(2) On the road, head right towards Grosley-sur-Risle for about 500 m.
(3) Leave this road just before the small copse and take the dirt track on the right to the houses at Conchez, where you’ll join theGR®224.
(4) Turn right onto the small Rue des Oiseaux, which quickly becomes a path lined with hedges. Continue along theGR®224, turning left onto Rue du Vallon and then right onto Rue de la Mairie (D123), and carry on for about 500 m along this road.
(5) Turn right onto the path (GR®224) which enters the Bois de Conchez and follow it for about 2 km.
(6) After a short descent, leave theGR® 224 and, at the edge of the woods, take the well-shaded path on the right which leads back towards Barc.
(7) At the Fork in the road, continue along the path leading off to the left. After a short climb, you’ll reach Rue du Val Monnier; follow it to the right until you reach Rue des Tuileries.
(8) Walk about ten metres to the right and turn left onto Rue des Sarcus. Immediately after the first house on the right, follow the small tarmac lane leading towards the car park. Cross the D32 with care, walk past the boules court and the sports ground, and head for the car park on Rue de l’École (S/E).
The route is varied. It’s particularly pleasant in hot weather as you’re often in the woods.
