A stroll through the centre of Girona

Please note that this walk is unmarked, so make sure you have the barcode for the Visorando map.

You can park near Santa Maria Cathedral, at the starting point.

(S/E) Set off to the right, passing between the Monastery of Saint Père de Galligants and Saint Nicholas’s Church. Cross a road and arrive at a junction near Plaça dels Jurats.

(1) Continue to the right until you reach the Church of Saint Felix, then turn left.

(2) At the History Museum, cross the bridge on the right, then take the street on the left, following the river. Pass the Casa Palacio de Caramany, then the San José Conservatoire. Carry on straight ahead, following the river, and head towards St Catherine’s Hospital.

(3) At the roundabout, take the path on the right, walk past the barracks, then, a little further on, take the street on the right.

(4) At Plaça de Girona, take the street on the right, then the one on the left, and follow the Parc del Migdia. At the end of the park, turn right, then right again, going round the park.

(5) Take the street on the left and continue straight on for about 300 metres. Turn right, then cross the bridge. Pass by Vista Alegre Park.

(6) Turn left and walk through the Jardin de la Muralla. A little further on, turn left and head towards the San José Conservatoire.

(7) Turn left, walk past the Girona History Museum, then, at the Casa de Agullana, turn right, then left and then right again, and walk through the Gironella Park. Return to the original junction.

(1) Take the street on the right at the Art Museum and the Church of Santa Maria, then head right. Turn right, then left, and return to the Monastery of San Père de Galligants to find the car park (S/E).
