Parking in front of Saint-Balise Church or on the nearby square.
(S/E) With your back to the church, turn right, immediately passing Route du Bois de la Cour on your right and continue straight ahead across the square to the tower (former castle gate). Turn right in front of the heart of the old church, which has been converted into a dwelling, and follow Grand Rue. Shortly afterwards, you will see the old Chapelle des Pénitents on your right. Almost at the end of the street, there is an old well on the right.
Continue to the crossroads and turn left. Pass Chemin de Ronde (a dead end) on your left and climb the steps opposite that lead up into the woods. After a short but steep climb, you will arrive at the Bois des Croix crossroads.
Turn left to make a round trip to the cross. You will need to descend into a small valley and then climb up opposite to go around the hill and arrive at the foot of the cross (bench). Return to the Bois des Croix crossroads.
Continue straight ahead on the wide path towards Bois de la Cour. 200 metres further on, pass a blocked path on the left and you will come to a fork in the bend.
(1) Go through the gate and turn left towards the pumping station. Go around it on the left, leave the path on the left and continue on the path through the woods. Cross a clearing and re-enter the woods. Immediately afterwards, on the right in the hillock, there is an old oven that is still well preserved. The path winds through the woods and then descends, making a wide turn to return above a road.
At the Bois de la Cour crossroads, leave the path on the right that descends to the road and continue straight on towards Montvendre. Shortly afterwards, take a path coming from the left (not marked on the map) and continue in the same direction. When the woods thin out, leave a path on the right that leads to the road and continue on the track that also leads to the road.
(2) Just before reaching the tarmac, take a path on the left that goes up into a valley and turn onto the next path on the left, which climbs steeply into the woods. You will come out at the top of a field. Follow it to the right along the edge to the viewpoint with the statue of the Virgin Mary (bench).
(3) Continue along the wide path until you reach a crossroads. Just opposite, a few metres away, is the Bois des Croix crossroads you passed on the way there (do not go there). Turn right onto the path and go down the steps alongside a fence.
Reach the first houses of the village. Turn left onto Rue des Remparts and head towards the tower. Turn right to reach the car park (S/E).
