Around the Priory of Saint-Angel

Park in the car park of the community hall, near the D1089, at the southern entrance to Saint-Angel. Coming from Tulle, it is on the right-hand side of the road.

(S/E) Head east, leaving the building on your right.

(1) You will come to a street; follow it to the left. Pass the town hall on your left. At the next junction, turn right to reach the entrance to the Prieuré Saint-Michel-des-Anges ( 12th-century Benedictine church ).

(2) Go around the church on the left, passing through the cemetery. Go down the path that starts with a wooden staircase and arrives at the bottom of the hill, at a crossroads with Rue de la Goutte.

(3) Turn right, cross the Triouzoune and follow Rue de la Goutte. At the end of the road, continue along a path. At the next intersection (elevation 708), continue straight ahead.

(4) At the crossroads with a road, take a path on the right and continue straight ahead.

(5) The path joins a track. At the end, first turn left then right to cross the Triouzoune again.

(6) On the other side, follow a road that climbs to the right.

(7) At the entrance to a right-hand bend, turn left at the hairpin bend to take a path. Go uphill and make several turns.

(8) When you reach the houses, turn right and cross the hamlet of Travige. Continue along the access road to this hamlet. Ignore a road coming from the right and return to the crossroads you took at the very beginning of the hike.

(1) Turn left and quickly return to the car park (S/E).
