Park in the car park in front of the Salle Voirnot at 24 Rue de la Gare.
(S/E) Walk down Rue de la Gare for about ten metres, then turn into the narrow lane on your right which runs alongside the church.
At the crossroads, opposite the church entrance, take Rue de l’Église to join Chemin du Breuil.
At the junction of the D90f and Chemin du Breuil, take Chemin de Bratte opposite and follow it up to the Col de Vassuchamp; as you climb, admire the view of the Seille valley behind you. Beautiful panoramic view of the village of Bratte.
(1) At the pass, take a path that climbs steeply to the right through the meadow and leads into the forest (a track created by motorbikes in this area).
Continue along the path on your right which enters the forest and follow the main track. Do not leave the Haye forest when you come to a fork on your left. The path is pleasant along the ridge and then descends steeply. Turn right after the descent and you will reach the power line.
(2) Continue along the path which runs alongside a meadow on your left (there is a high-voltage electricity pylon here) to reach the D10.
(3) Cross the D10, take the path on the left and head up into the forest. Then take the first path on your left and, after about a hundred metres, you’ll reach the edge of the forest.
(4) Turn right to walk alongside the forest. Enjoy the beautiful view over the Natagne valley and Mont Toulon.
Continue along this path, which turns left through the fields and joins the path below La Côte.
(5) Turn right and continue straight on until you reach the road. Beautiful view of the village of Sivry and the valley.
(6) At the crossroads (317m), take the road going uphill to the right, then turn onto the first path on the right.
Continue straight ahead and, on your left, take in the view of the Seille Valley; in fine weather, you can make out the city of Metz to the north and, occasionally, the plumes of white smoke rising from the towers of the Cattenom nuclear power station (80 km as the crow flies).
At the first junction, continue straight on towards the forest; take a small path at the edge of the forest; this narrow track winds through the fir forest and joins the main path leading to Mont Saint-Jean.
(7) Turn right onto the path that crosses Mont Saint-Jean to reach the south-eastern tip and the farmland. As you leave the forest, there is a beautiful view of the blue line of the Vosges, with the Grand Couronné in the foreground.
(8) Continue straight on to head back down towards the village of Moivrons. At the foot of the hill, at the first junction, turn left then take the third path on the left which passes through the orchards and vineyards. You will reach the vineyard at the post.
(9) Continue along the path, which then turns sharply right to join the D70f. Then turn right to walk up Rue de la Gare and return to the car park (S/E).
