The walk starts in front of the village school: there is a picnic table by the pond and a small car park nearby behind the school.
(S/E) When you are in front of the picnic table, take the small path down to your left to join the D36 road towards Vézelay, which you can see in the distance. Follow this road (pavement) which crosses the lower part of the village of Usy, known as Le Crot, until you reach the exit indicated by the sign.
(1) After passing the sign indicating the village exit (water treatment plant), take the path on your left. Further on, at the edge of the field, you can admire the hills of Vézelay.
(2) At the corner of the Bois des Rompées, turn right.
N.B. Do not take the more or less maintained path opposite, as it is reserved for farmers.
At the crossroads in the woods, continue straight ahead on a path that may be muddy in wet weather.
(3) Then turn left, staying on the main path. A little further on, a small stream crosses the stony path at this point (the flow is usually low, so it is easy to cross). Continue along this path (south-south-west) with meadows bordered by hedges on the left and steep woods on the right (Cure valley below). Ignore a path branching off to the right and follow the path heading south-east, still along the edge of the wooded slope. You will enter the woods and come to a crossroads (elevation 227).
(4) Follow theGR®13on the left (red and white markings). Further on, on the right, you will see a viewpoint offering a vast panorama of the village of Cure and the Cure river. Continue along the path until you reach a small road (mission cross from 1847, picnic table). Cross the road and take a path into the woods, heading towards Notre-Dame de la Lumière. You will come to a flat area and turn right to reach the statue and the viewpoint.
(5) Retrace your steps briefly and quickly turn right onto a wide path (leaving the path you came on to your left). You will come to a road. Follow it to the right and uphill. You will cross a housing estate at the entrance to Usy. At the crossroads (tennis court on the right), follow the D36 to the left, staying on the pavement. This will take you back to the starting point behind the school (S/E).
