Description of the walk

The route starts at the Tourist Office.

(S) About 100m up the hill on your left, you will find signposts marking the start of various walks (Lac de Lessy, Aiguille Verte...).
Turn left to cross the CGH Lessy holiday residence (free passage over and under footbridges). Continue up a very steep climb to rejoin the hiking trail. The path climbs rapidly, following the yellow arrow on a green background.

(1) At the junction by the farm, take the path on the right that crosses it. After 200m, take the path on the left across the fields. At the next junction, continue to your left onto the Chemin de la Gaudinière.

Walk past a chalet and continue to La Gaudinière.

(2) Take the path down to the left to reach the Route de la Bouvardière.

(3) At the bottom of the descent, turn left onto the road to return to the village and the Tourist Office (E).

The ascent and descent are quite steep, so walking poles are recommended.

Worth a visit

As you pass through the farm, you can buy some Reblochon.

We set off from the bridge at the Chinaillon exit, heading for the Col de la Colombière, and then joined the discovery trail; the slope between 2 and 3 is quite technical – watch your knees

We did it the other way round. The section between 2 and 3 is quite steep on the way up; you can manage it without poles, but on the way down I think poles would be a good idea.
Otherwise, it’s a lovely little ‘hike’ with a few information boards about the flora and fauna, which gives you a chance to stop for a breather now and then.

We went on this short hike the day after we arrived in Chinaillon; it’s a great way to get your legs moving and gives you a first taste of Chinaillon and its surroundings
For cheese lovers, the cheese from the farm we pass on this route is excellent!
