Around Saint-Étienne-les-Orgues

A half-day family walk, when the Montagne de Lure is shrouded in clouds. Paths, a bit of quiet road, a bit of track, a descent through the woods – nothing out of the ordinary, just a chance to get some fresh air for two hours.

Description of the walk

From the Durance valley, head to Saint-Étienne-les-Orgues.

(S/E) From the square’s car park, head to the roundabout, take the Chemin de la Grande Fontaine – a street on the right – then the path continuing from it, which emerges on the left onto the D12.

(1) Follow it to the right until you reach the Chemin de Parian on the left.

(2) Take this track, which continues as a slightly uphill path, then turn left until you reach a track leading up to a reservoir.

(3) Ignore this track and head down opposite along a small path through the woodland, cross the Laye, cross a small road and continue along the path opposite which joins a road.

(4) Follow it to the left, then turn left again onto Route de la Panebière to return to the roundabout at the start and the car park on the right (S/E).
