Parking is compulsory in the car park at the entrance to the village of Montclus.
Yellow signposts
(S/E) Go to the "Montclus" sign opposite the car park, in front of the bridge. Cross the bridge towards the mill.
Continue left, following the Chemin du Moulin until you reach the "Le Moulin" signpost.
(1) Leave the road on your right and continue left on the paved road towards "Mas de Sabin".
On the road going uphill, you can see the village of Montclus on your left. At the top of the hill, a cross marks the entrance to a beautiful property. Continue on the road downhill to the "Mas de Sabin" crossroads.
(2) Leave the road and take the path on the right just before the farmhouse towards "l'Aiguille". This path climbs through holm oak trees to join a wide track.
(3) Turn left and follow this wide track for about 1.5 km, ignoring all other paths. Pass an isolated house and continue for about 200 m. Look for the signpost for "l'Aiguille" hidden in the trees on the left.
(4) Leave the track and turn left onto a path. It descends steeply towards the Source de Marnade. Pass the spring and follow the sign at a T-junction.
You can turn right to make a round trip to the ruins of a mill and the almost dry spring (July 2015).
Turn left onto this flat path. It crosses a landscaped esplanade and then widens into a beautiful track. Continue along the Cèze, sometimes in the forest and sometimes in open areas. Pass a house called "La Grange" and continue straight ahead, ignoring a path on your right. Continue until the path becomes paved, then ignore a path on your left and continue along the lavender and cherry trees.
(5) The road curves to the left and rejoins the river, which it follows for about 1.2 km, then turns left and climbs up to the signpost "Le Mas de Sabin".
(2) Turn right onto the same path you took on the way there until you reach the car park.
(S/E) When you reach the bridge opposite the car park, turn right towards the village. At the first crossroads with a cross above it, turn right to pass under the archway of Rue de l'Arceau. When you reach Place du Calvaire, turn right into Rue de l'Échoppe, leave Rue Souleïado on your right and continue until you reach a larger street (Rue du Couvent).
(6) Turn left and pass under another archway that leads to Place de l'École. Turn left and then right in front of the cultural and sports centre to see the church.
Leaving the church, cross the square straight ahead, heading towards the tower. Turn right along the ramparts, pass the entrance to the castle and find a narrow street that descends to the left of a gate. It winds its way down to Rue de la Calade. Turn left, then right to return to the car park (S/E).
