Description of the walk

Car park for the tennis courts and Montaut school (at the top of the village).

(S/E) From the car park, head west and turn left onto the road.

(1) Follow this road down (Route de St Barthélémy) towards the “main” road that runs between Noé and the Lèze valley.
Once you reach the main road (D28), cross with care and continue straight on along the small road that climbs up opposite

(2) Just before reaching the first building (farmhouse) on the left, take the path that branches off to the left and runs alongside the farmhouse.

(3) When you reach the farm (Lucau on the map), go round it along the field and then, immediately afterwards, rejoin a slightly tarmac-surfaced track (Chemin de Lucau) passing under a power line. Follow this track back up to the main road.

(4) Once you reach the main road, turn right and follow it for 400 m (be careful, there’s traffic…), then turn left onto the Chemin de Quarret

(5) Chemin de Quarret ends in a footpath. At the end of this path, turn left, passing under a power line once more.

(6) Once back on the road (Route de Saint-Barthélémy), turn right, then 150 m further on, turn left (Route de Frances de Lèze, towards Mauzac) and turn right again 100 m further on, staying on the road towards Mauzac (it goes up a bit).

(7) Once you reach the top of the hill, just past the farm on the left, take the path on the left that runs alongside the farm.

(8) Turn left onto the path to head back up to the village, which you can see.

(1) Once you’ve reached the village and are back on the road, turn left. The car park is a few metres further on (S/E).

Hello everyone,
This is an easy route to do with quite a bit of tarmac. We did it in June just after a rainy spell and the stream between markers 5 and 6 had overflowed (no bridge built). There is also a very aggressive dog (Dobermann) (farm marker 7) that follows you barking along the fence of the house. This fence is not very high...
Otherwise beautiful view of the Pyrenees and Garonne.

A lovely walk with stunning views of the Pyrenees. There’s a bit of tarmac, but you’d be hard-pressed to find a better route
