Park in the large car park at Étang de Nouzilly, south of the village.
(S/E) First follow the tarmac road that runs alongside the lake, then a path that passes in front of a children's playground. About halfway across the lake, a footbridge leads to the fitness trail that climbs through the undergrowth to a water tower.
(1) Go around the water tower and turn left onto a carriage road. When you reach the hamlet of Vallée Vigneau, turn right and then immediately left onto a grassy path, closed to motor traffic, which descends slightly before climbing again.
(2) Just before reaching the hamlet of La Sirotière, a sign points to Gué de Lourioux on the left. Follow this path, which first goes around a field before descending through pleasant undergrowth to the bottom of the valley.
(3) After the footbridge, cross the road and take the path that climbs up into the forest opposite. The slope soon becomes steeper and the path is rutted in places. At the first intersection, continue straight ahead.
(4) At Carroi de la Daumerie (sign), continue straight ahead on a well-marked path that runs alongside an imposing fence for nearly a kilometre. After a final climb, the path widens at a field and then descends straight down to end at the Étang de Nouzilly car park (S/E).

We did this route underwater (wearing boots). It was easy to follow, well marked with orange markers! The undergrowth was lovely! We'll do it again in spring and autumn when the leaves are colourful!
