Around Dohan

Departure from the Rue du Saty car park in Dohan.

(S) From the car park, head towards the bridge over the Semois. After the bridge, turn left towards Cugnon, then enter the forest at the first path on the left (marker 22). Climb up to a car park located along the N865: Roche du Corbeau viewpoint.

(1) Continue along the marked trail to the Roche de la Dampirée.

(2) Stay on the trail and climb up to the Dampirée viewpoint. Please note: the climb is steep.

(3) Continue along the marked trail for about 100 metres, then leave it on the right to join the N865.

(4) Cross the road carefully and take the path opposite. Descend the first path on the right to reach a wide path (follow signpost 22). Turn right and descend to the N816.

(5) Turn right towards the bridge, cross it and turn right to climb up towards the church.

(6) Climb up to the Calvary (marker 17).

(7) Continue the steep climb along a pretty path to the Viaumont viewpoint: exceptional view of Dohan and its surroundings.

(8) Continue along the marked trail until you reach a more prominent cross-country path. Turn right, ignoring the nearby path on the left (leaving trail marker 17). Ignore the next path on the right and continue along the ridge (mountain bike trail markers) until you reach the GR®16.

(9) Turn left at the bottom of the valley and head for Poteau de Lévau.

(10) Continue along the valley floor until you reach Roche Percée.

(11) After the metal footbridge that follows this natural curiosity, leave the GR® to climb to the left (steep slope). Turn left at the top of the climb and, 150m further on, you will reach the Roche Percée viewpoint.

(12) Return to the trail and continue left until you reach a T-junction.

(13) Descend to the left, then at the first junction, turn right and you will reach a wide carriageway, the Transsemoisienne.

(14) Continue along the Transsemoisienne and, 700 metres further on, take the second path on the left (red and white markings for the GR® 16 variant).

(15) Climb up to the junction of the GR®16 with its variant.

(16) Turn left, carefully cross the N816 and descend to the village via the GR®16. Return to the N816 and follow it to the car park on the right (S/E).
