Around Colmar and across the Alsace plain

Departure from Place du Marché in Turckheim or Place de la République.

(S/E) Cross Rue Charles Grad to follow Rue du Maréchal de Lattre and run along the left bank of the Fecht. Continue along Rue du Muguet then Rue de la Promenade until you reach a small wooden footbridge on the right (where you can cross the Fecht).

(1) Take this bridge, cross the Fecht and follow the cycle path on the right bank to the left.
Go under Route de Colmar, then over a footbridge over the Fecht, and turn right. When you reach Rue Kennedy, turn left and then right onto Rue Schuman.

(2) Pass under the ring road and, at the exit, follow the road to the left. At the next junction, turn right then left, and continue straight ahead to the Colmar sports complex.

(3) At the next intersection, continue straight ahead until you reach the edge of the forest. Turn left, then right at the three-way junction after the pumping station.

(4) Cross the railway line and head towards Houssen. Take Rue de la Fecht to reach the large Rosenkrantz crossroads.

(5) Go under the Strasbourg road and the A35 motorway and immediately turn right to join the cycle path that runs alongside the A35.

(6) At the crossroads, ignore the village of Houssen and turn right. At the four-way crossroads, turn right and then pass under the A35 to reach the industrial estate.

(7) Go around the Leclerc warehouse via Rue Jean Michel Haussmann and reach a roundabout. Turn left, cross the bridge over the A35 motorway and then the Ill river, and you will soon reach a fork with a central island.

(8) Turn right (Rue de la Birg) and head towards the Colmar Canal lock.

(9) Cross the canal and follow the cycle path on the right bank towards Artzenheim.

(10) Bridge over the Blind. Pass Muntzenheim and then cross a forest. At the end of the forest, leave the canal and arrive at a crossroad.
(11) Cross the bridge over the canal and continue along the left bank of the Colmar Canal. Join the Rhône-Rhine Canal and turn left. Follow the canal to^{the first} bridge.

(12) Pass under the bridge and turn left twice to cross the canal and reach Artzenheim.
Cross Artzenheim via Rue des Vosges, passing in front of the cemetery, then turn right onto Rue de Baltzenheim (closed to traffic except for bicycles and residents).

(13) Take Rue Principale through Baltzenheim and continue straight ahead towards the farm building at the edge of the village. Pass under the high-voltage power lines and turn left at the four-way intersection. Continue along Rue des Champs to Kunheim and, at the end, turn left to reach a crossroads.

(14) Continue straight ahead on Rue Ferdinand Beghin and, at the end, turn left and cross the bridge over the Neuf-Brisach Canal.

(15) Immediately after, take the cycle path on the left which runs alongside the canal and leads to Biesheim. At the bridge over the canal, take the footbridge on the right.

(16) Take it, pass in front of a cemetery and continue straight ahead to a roundabout. Go around the nursery school on the right, then take Rue des Pêcheurs after crossing a street, and join the D29.

(17) Turn right, pass the restaurant and follow the D29 to a four-way crossroads.

(18) Turn left onto the Roman road, which is closed to all motor vehicles except authorised vehicles and bicycles. At the roundabout, take the cycle path on the right just after crossing the railway line.

(19) Cross the bridge over the canal and arrive at the Porte de Strasbourg.

(20) Enter Neuf-Brisach and head for Place d'Armes (Général de Gaulle), then head towards Porte de Belfort via Rue de Belfort, opposite the square. You will reach the Street Art Museum on your left.

(21) From the museum, return to Place d'Armes via Rue du Général Herr, go around it and arrive at Rue de Colmar.

(22) Leave Neuf-Brisach via the Porte de Colmar and follow Rue de Colmar to the cemetery entrance.

(23) Follow the cycle path on the right, which runs alongside the cemetery on the left and the Widensolen Canal, then the railway line.

(24) At the level crossing on the right, enter Wolfgantzen via Rue du Canal and, at the end, turn left onto Rue de Gare to reach Place de la Mairie with its fountain.

(25) At the stop sign, turn right onto Rue Principale, then left onto Route d'Appenwihr, ignoring Rue des Campanules at the same level. Leave the village and continue left on the D1, straight ahead to Sundhoffen. Pass in front of the town hall and reach Rue de l'Ill on the right.

(26) Follow this road straight ahead until you reach a crossroad. Continue to the right and you will reach a roundabout in Sundhoffen.

(27) Turn left, cross the bridge over the Ill and at Place du Général de Gaulle, turn left onto Rue de l'Église. At the end, turn right onto Rue de la Liberté, then left onto Rue de Sainte-Croix en Plaine and continue to number 13. Turn right immediately afterwards onto Rue des Alpes and continue to the next crossroads.

(28) Turn left onto Chemin dit Allmendweg, cross the Colmar Communal Forest and join the A35.

(29) Go under the motorway, then follow the track on the left and join Route de Colmar (D201). Follow it to the right, then quickly turn left onto the cycle path just after the bridge. Follow the Thur river to the hamlet of Dichelé.

(30) Continue for about 200 m, turn right and continue straight on until you reach the railway line. Follow it on your right and join the Route de Colmar at the entrance to the hamlet of Les Erlen.

(31) Turn left, cross the bridge over the railway line and immediately take the small road on the right, which is one-way except for bicycles. Follow the factory on the right and, at the roundabout, continue straight on to Wettolsheim and reach No. 53 on the street.

(32) Turn right onto Rue des Vergers and follow the cycle path through the lower part of Wettolsheim. Continue along Rue Neuve and Rue Kleb and enter Wintzenheim. Continue to No. 5 on the street.

(33) Continue left onto Rue des Trois Châteaux, turn right at the^{first street}and, at the roundabout, go straight ahead onto Rue des Trois Épis, towards Turckheim, and continue to the next roundabout.

(34) Turn left towards Turckheim at the next roundabout, continue straight ahead, cross the bridge over the D417 and reach another roundabout in Turckheim.

(35) Continue straight ahead on the cycle path that runs alongside the street in the wrong direction, keep right at the next junction and arrive at the D11. Turn left, cross the bridge over the Fecht and reach Place de la République (S/E).

Two places require particular attention: the passage through the southern industrial zone of Colmar with the bridge over the motorway and the crossing of the Colmar road at a place called Les Erlen (31).
