Around Hody via Limont and Tavier

Car park at the entrance to Chemin du Sart, opposite Hody church.

(S/E) Take this path to the end of the woods and descend to the right along it. This path curves to the right and then to the left, ending 250 metres later at a crossroads (only the branches to the right and left are clearly visible).

(1) At this intersection, turn right (narrower path) and reach the Grand'Route (N638). Go down this road on the left for 300 metres and turn onto the path that goes down to the right along a concrete fence. When you reach the stream, take the path on the right that runs alongside the stream and then gradually climbs away from it to reach the fields. Shortly before the summit, turn right onto the path that runs alongside a pasture (on the left) and a field (on the right).

(2) When you reach the crossroads (signposted "Col de Limont - 240m"), continue straight ahead to Rue Lagrange, turn left and walk for 300m, then turn right onto Chemin de l'Essartage. Continue along this path until you reach a wood.

(3) Continue left along the edge of the woods and turn left at the end.

(4) At the junction with the end of Rue Lagrange (which continues here as a dirt track), continue straight ahead. The path, which is initially tarmac, becomes stony and gradually descends towards a wood. Continue along the edge of the wood.

(5) At the bottom of the woods, cross the stream on the left (the path becomes tarmac again after a few metres) and take the path directly on the right which climbs back up towards the centre of the village of Limont. Continue straight on along Rue Chemin du Sarté, then first turn right then left to reach Rue d'El Creû.

(6) When you reach the edge of the village, at the three-way junction, take the middle path (a grassy country lane in the middle) and follow this path until it joins a tarmac road on a slope.

(7) Go down this road to the junction with the Grand'Route (N638) and cross straight ahead.

(8) Cross the bridge and take the path directly to the left, which winds between the stream and the road to reach the village of Tavier.

(9) When you reach the village (volleyball court and playground), turn left, cross the stream and go straight up Chemin du Paradis. Before the road turns left, take the dirt track on the right, then the right fork.

(10) The path, now grassy, then turns 270° (bench) while continuing to climb, before joining another path. Turn right, in a hairpin bend, onto the grassy path between two pastures and continue to the edge of a wood. Walk along the edge of the wood and continue on the same path, which bends to the left while running alongside the wood (on the right) and the pasture (on the left).

(11) At the end of the path, turn right to reach the road. Turn right and continue climbing.

(12) When you reach a five-way crossroads, turn left onto the path lined with trees at the start and continue through the fields. At^{the first} crossroads, turn right to the corner of the woods and turn left to walk along the edge of the woods.

(13) After 600 metres, the path turns into a trail and enters the woods. This trail leads to the end of the first section of the route.

(1) Turn right and follow this section up to the road and then to the car park (S/E).
