Around Anneux

Description of the walk

Park near the church in Anneux.

(S/E) From the junction of Rue de l'Église and Grande Rue, turn right, go around the back of the town hall, take Place de l'École, then turn right again onto Grande Rue.

(1) When you reach Rue de Marcoing, turn right, then a little further on, turn left into Rue de Cantaing. Follow this road, cross the bridge over the A2 motorway, then continue along Rue d'Anneux (Cantaing-sur-Escaut).

(2) At the junction with Grande Rue, continue straight ahead, then take a right turn followed by a left turn onto Chemin des Mortelots. Ignore the road on the right, turn left and keep left at each junction until you reach Rue de Noyelles.

(3) In the bend on Rue de Noyelles, veer left. At the intersection with Grande Rue, turn right. Just before the military cemetery, turn left onto Rue de Fontaine, then right onto Chemin Communal, until you reach the crossroads at Porte du Château de la Folie.

(4) Turn left, go under the A2 motorway and continue along Rue Jules Ferry. Ignore the two streets on the left and right, then continue slightly to the left.

(5) At the crossroads with the Route Nationale, cross over and continue straight ahead along Rue du Canton de Chemillé. Follow this road to the end, then turn left onto Rue Victor Hugo.

(6) When you reach Rue Maréchal Foch, turn right, then left onto Rue Sadi Carnot. At the next intersection, turn right onto Chemin de Douai and ignore the path on the right.

(7) At the junction with Chemin de Bois, turn left and, at the next fork, turn left again.

(8) At the junction with Rue Sadi Carnot, near the water tower, turn right, then right again onto Chemin du Bois. Continue for 250 metres, then, after the bend, turn left.

(9) At the junction with the D630, cross carefully, turn right, follow the verge for about 250 m, then turn left onto the path. At Rue du Calvaire, turn left.

(1) At the junction with Rue de la Chapelle, continue straight on Grande Rue and stay on this road until you reach the church, your starting point (S/E).
